Great to see you and Meg back out! I'm so sorry to hear you've not been well. Having had some health issues some years ago I know the toll they can have not only physically, but mentally and emotionally too. So it's great to see you out enjoying yourself and on the mend! As a (dumb) aside - I saw the notification for this video immediately after waking up this morning, and my brain looked at the title and was wondering how you were going to make clods of earth epic 🤣

Great to see you back Simon … always enjoy your videos! I believe those grasses are sedges. Sedges, on closer examination, have 3 sided or triangular stems which sets them apart from regular grasses. (Sorry for my long comment Simon...) I was missing you Simon 😊. Glad you came back and glad you feel better. People can be so nasty. I could not do what you're doing. I don't have the emotional strenght for it. By the way, I recently was sick and lost a lot of weight and was weak also (my wife said I was looking like someone in a concentration camp), but I'm glad to say I was able to regain some streight and weight. Simon, I'm just at the 4 th minute of your video, but I want to ask you something. You are the one who gave me the desire to take pictures in woodland. Because I like so much your style, I bought a sony camera like the one you had (a7r III) and the same lens you have also (Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GMII) and also a Benq monitor (SW272Q). But I'm struggling with Adobe RGB and sRGB, softproofing and all that stuff. Do you have a course or a video I can buy to learn what you do? Is there something simple I can do? Do I have to be a patreon? I would like to know what you're doing to edit for prints and for the web. I spend so much time on youtube... To be simple, I'm doing everything sRGB, but I know it's not the best quality for printing. Thank you ahead. Sincerely.
@SimonBaxterPhotography
@SimonBaxterPhotography 2 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! I'm afraid I don't have a tutorial for this but you'll be fine working in sRGB to be honest. I currently have my monitor calibrated to sRGB even though I'm working in AdobeRGB in lightroom. It gives me better consistency across devices and my prints are still accurate.

I am very happy, that you are back! I honestly thought about what happened to you and interestingly came to the conclusion that you were annoyed by today’s social media stuff and needed a brake from it. I don’t know why I came to this conclusion, but maybe it was a bit right… Altogether I am curious about what exactly happened and how your thoughts are related to Instagram etc., because I and many other photographers have some problems with social media ourselves. Maybe you could share your thoughts on this topic … it could be helpful for some of us. But only if you like, of course. 😊
