My goodness! I started off not enjoying this then got to EKO hotel and memories came flooding in of my mum taking us there almost every Christmas to the Chinese restaurant when we were kids. Then came Obalende, and I honestly was almost emotional remembering a family friend who had an evening/night joint there. It was so much fun and always an adventure going with him to his mum's joint to eat and simply enjoy the atmosphere. He and his mum are here in the UK. Last time I was in Lagos in 2018 my mum's driver took me to a place in Ikeja where they serve food from 7pm to 6am in the morning! I was blown away as they block the street and everywhere comes alive with food, music and a whole ambiance that's indescribable! I tell you, when I miss 9ja the only two things I miss are the food and the social life. No matter how flat or dense your pocket is you still have an active social life in Lagos. The same sadly can't be said for the UK....totally different vibe beyond pubs and night clubs...neither of which I'm party to. BTW...what was scary about it? No clickbait necessary. 😉

I really enjoyed the night out in Lagos! I had fun watching, while Google mapping the streets you mentioned. Via the mapping, I learned about the CMS, CMS street, Campos street, plus another street. Marina Road, the Lagos Lagoon, and the Gulf of Guinea. Your channel and content are always uplifting and fun. I wish the streets of the US had more open markets and pedestrians. Thank you Mr. Ludo! 🥰 I'm totally coming down there as soon as I can!

Hello Ludo, I enjoyed the video. Anyone that knows you, and has seen your videos, knows you are extremely courteous to everyone. I just think it may have been a misunderstanding because of the title, for some of the negative comments. It looked like a fun night out! You were partly the inspiration for my trip to Rwanda. I am doing a trip to the Congo to see lowland gorillas and also a trip to Uganda to see the mountain gorillas. I am flying into and out of Kigali. I hope to someday visit Nigeria. Merry Christmas to you and your family, and I look forward to more videos in 2024!

I am a long-time subscriber and have enjoyed your immersive tours of so many places, including in Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and Ghana. I virtually traveled with you to Paris, and thoroughly enjoyed the places shown. Having said that, I am greatly disappointed to the extreme by how you captioned this video. You seem to be defending your word choice by claiming in the comments section that the two guys were truly dangerous and might have been a problem to someone who didn't know them. Maybe so, but you didn't have a scary night in Lagos as the three of you enjoyed a great time together. I'm annoyed that you as a Lagosian would knowingly feed into the myth that Lagos is a very dangerous place. (By the way, I never had a scary time in Lagos when I visited there.) I'd like to ride or walk with you on your next video, but I've lost my trust in you as being a good guy without some other agenda. Be well

Thanks for sharing your feeling. let me try to answer you and others here. This will be my first and only answer about it..... I will try to express myself and i don't want to debate about it anymore. First thing important for me is the message I spread with my content, not the title which is the appetizer to try to spread the content more... but the real content ...what's inside, what people can see.... with no filters... What I have showed with this video and all the videos is not the title, but what's inside... Sorry to be repetitive, but once more the title is just the hook... I 200 percent assume the content and the things showed in all my videos, I am even proud and happy to show it to the world, cause it is just the reality, it is not me, but what's happening for real... what did you see inside the video ? was it negative ? You saw me inviting my close friends, two "street guys" sleeping in the street on a bench, and sharing some good time like we use to do since a long time. Shakur and SO are some very close friends, I was with them just before answering your comment ...; I wanted to see them to tell them about your comment or three others I had. trust me or not... I was with them, to show them some of the comments and the results of the video.....they are my real friends... but they are also and first ... unfortunately what people call thugs, hoodlums, gangsters, they stay on the side of the road all the day and night and survive doing their illegal business. And I know who they really are : Two young guys who didn't have the chance to have a great education and a family rich enough to take care of them and help them like it should be done. they represent a huge part of the lagosian population who is always described as dangerous, robbers etc.... but finally ..yes they do their business, yes it is bad, but they have a good heart and so much problems...I hope i contributed to show who they really are as well as the problem they face, here for example with this new drug which is just destroying them.... i thought a lot about the title, "how I spent ten dollars in Lagos"... blablabla... and I came up with this idea, told them, they agreed... and even laughed a lot .... we 3 agree on the fact that it is better to create a video with a good title to have people clicking it. And what you saw inside the video once more is really positive to me... At least it is the truth, you saw us enjoying in the contrasted city of Lagos in different places from the economical center to some streets, many people use to describe as really really unsafe. We did it freely, we met only smiles, and didn't have any problem of insecurity, we showed Lagos has it really is. nothing negative or orientated to show only the good or only the bad... This being said, i think you know about KZbin, you know about the changes of the audience, who like sex, violence, war, fast stuff, dangerous situation, sensationalism .....to spread the message you need first to have people Clicking it and then people watching. for this, you need to have a title and thumbnail that are either, intriguing, emotional, with some sensationalism... this is part of the game And if you do you-tube seriously especially since shorts appeared, you can't escape this or it is better to stop..; this is unfortunate, but the machine shows what the audience click, if the audience doesn't click the machine doesn't...... I won't write here all the titles that are kind of clickbait from the biggest Nigerian you-tubers here (yes i think the same as the 2 or 4 ones you are thinking now)... or African, or international... everybody does that.... but not everybody has to justify during an essay... so finally, is this title a title made for youtube, and a catchy title ? yes... do I assume it ? yes . will I change it or change anything on something I do on youtube ? No, cause I am straight in my shoes. No I didn't have a scary night, you are right 777mackeyj But I know many people even from Nigeria will be scared to follow me because they will say/think it is dangerous and unsafe. I hope I showed them what it really is I hope I convinced them that Lagos is a nice place to enjoy freely at night. Hope I contributed in showing the real face of Lagos. About you loosing trust, and declining rhe walk or ride for the next one ... I am sad about it. I beg o ! kindly let me know if you find some authentic content around the platform to replace the immersion we had together here... I am myself tired about the real estates, billionaires stories, and fake/deluxe advertiser's traveler's stories and desperately looking for a new creator that will bring me some new feelings

@Ludo_Liu Dear Ludo, thank you very much for your very thoughtful and honest response to my comments. You have restored my trust in you as an honorable guy, and I will continue "riding" with you on your future trips. It is indeed unfortunate that the structure of online capitalization has become so cut throat. I wish there was a way to stand up to it without being penalized. Please say hello to your two friends. It would be good to see them in some other of your videos. Maybe they could share some of the rewards. Again, stay well

I hope Ludo can find the help he needs to overcome his addiction its clear he travels like a lot of white KZbinrs seeking Star life with what little money he saved. I'm sure the people take to him because of his nationality not knowing his aim to look down on them. Hopefully the men he disrespected see this and report his misleading behavior and don't lose their lively hood. Once again we all pray that Ludo gets the help he needs because addiction can be very traumatic.

12.18.2023 As a black person residing in America, I'm not sure if I like you using the term "Thugs" to describe the brotha's sorry. It's your channel, I get it and respect that, but it is very offensive being used by a white guy. You'll be better off using "2 Homies" I've been liking your channel thus far, but this might make me side eye. Peace

thanks a lot for that, let me just copy paste an answer i just did to the same remark : Thanks for sharing your feeling. let me try to answer you and others here. I am myself tired about the real estates, billionaires stories, and fake traveler's stories and desperately looking for a new creator that will bring me some new feelings

@Ludo_Liu 12.18.2023 I don't care how you sugar coat your usage of calling them "Thugs" at the end of the day it is offensive. Next, you'll feel like you have a pass at calling the melanated brothas the "N" word, and that's definitely grounds for a bigger issue. Culturally, they may be okay with you labeling them "Thugs" because they don't know the negative history behind it, but just know that the more people who know the history of that word as it relates to black people, you will have to copy/paste this often 🤷🏾‍♀️
