How did you lift the edges of the petals? Special brush, lift it off before it dries too much?

You're actually teaching people how to look! So many KZbin painters lead people to believe they're making things up. They don't show their reference. That's just entertainment. I used to have a book called 'Breaking the Rules of Watercolour'. He used a coated paper, so it was easy to scrub areas out. But your brush seems to be stiff enough to scrub. I've always done an accurate pencil drawing first. Watching you go from the general to the specific was thrilling. Charles Reid's portraits are like your roses. Even he was a big believer in drawing. Flowers are more forgiving. Anyway, I almost feel like trying after hanging up my brushes ten years ago. What I did receive when you used to word 'specific' was a revelation as to what my piano teacher is trying to get me to do with improvisation. Not some music-like series of sounds, but a clear and meaningful specific statement.

Hello, love this idea of lifting off color. When I lay down the color, it immediately begins to dry before I finish the lifting off.. Are you lifting off from a wet palette? What kind of brush are you lifting off with? Thank you.
