I really enjoyed your teaching. Most beginners like me water is a constant struggle. I've painted in oils for 10 years or more but I always wanted to tackle watercolor. You explain things wonderfully. The brushes you used I am impressed with. Your round brush did it all and does a great job lifting as well as soaking up water forming at the bottom. I really enjoyed watching and listening and could see where your eyes flicked back and forth from painting to image as the rose slowly appeared. I also ordered a set of your two brushes. I have watched many tutorials by others using the calligraphy brush. Thank you for this great tutorial. By the by....you have a pleasant voice!

I love simple ways paintings. They always leave a room for the vewers to finish them in their minds. So many artists paint roses and they tend to overdo their works, showing off as "masters", but somebody already said : the artist is not an inspired person but the person who inspires others" . I recently purchased tutorials from Gumroad but it was all written instructions with recommended videos from your KZbin channel, not the same as the written tutorials which was a bit confusing. However I believe the money is well spent in supporting you as I watch all your videos and learn so much. Water control is a big problem for me. This was so helpful I can’t wait to try it. Blessings from Northern Ireland ❤ Well I have tried this, it looks nothing like yours lol but I will try again. Is anyone else, when they’re adding colours saying it like Yong Chen? Adding a little bit of blue colour etc lol.

I appreciate your very clear demos and thorough description of what you are trying to achieve and how you tackle the job. ai bought some bamboo goat hair brushes in the art store but they were certainly not like yours. The manufacturer brought them to a point using sizing but when thst was rinsed out I had fluffy brushes that would not come to a point. There seems to be very soft feathery hair in the middle and coarse goat hair surrounding it. So I wasted my money and learned a lesson. I should have bought your brushes!!

31:49 - As a "SCRYER", I see things in paintings, water, clouds, materials, etc that most people do not see. At 31.49 I see a "dark female face" of one closed left eye/eye lashes, big nose, and dark large lips, on the left of my screen. The "Rose" is in the middle of the screen. But the Rose can be seen as the "brain" of a SPIRIT PERSON, who is puckering its lips and kissing the lips of the "dark figure" on the left. Thank you, Yong Chen. Great teacher. Great artist. So beautiful. I am 52. Hope I can accomplish it if I do a painting everyday, by 70. I used to face paint. Watercolor seemed similar as you must understand how to load the brush but opposite in some regards.
