Sir how we can take secularism as a Characteristic of modernity? As modernity's time is near 16th century and secularism came much later... Dont you think instead of secularism,Secularization or diminishing role of church/religion must be used?🤔

@@POLSCHELP sir iske historical roots to bhot deep h but if we see as idea and when the term came into use was when British reformer George Jacob Holyoake coined it in 19th century Sir me apko contradict nhi karna chah rhi mera bs ye doubt he ki ye as an idea bhot bad me aya to when we are talking of feautures of a time before its formation then shouldn't we use some subtle terms as dichotomy between religion and state was emerging kind of,,,instead of using a term which came very much later? Just a doubt sir 😅

@@janhavichauhan9577 modernity is not a objective truth with fixed timeline; it is a 'discourse' framed largely by enlightenment tradition after 18th Century; secularism- non-religious basis of State, morality, ethics, focus on science and reason/rationality is integral part of the modernity discourse.
