US policies are strange. It saw Indian as enemy during the cold war just because we chose not to ally with either of the two blocks. The Russians embraced us whole heartedly and signed a friendship treaty with India althogh India was not their ally. They never had any problem with India conducting its own policies independently. The US equation with China is even stranger. They hated them, but were nevertheless fascinated by the Chinese and wanted them as a partner. So the US stripped its own ally Taiwan of its nationhood and transferred it to mainland China as the real China, but also kept the the ally they just stabbed in the back as its protectrate, while also recognizing the one-China policy ! They then funded China's economic rise even as they feared it's military rise. On the eastern from of India, the US aided Pakistanis for deacdes arming them to teeth against India, knowing verey well that tehy would only these weapons and funds against India. Pakistan used the funds to build its nukes, and funded its vast terror network which has now become autonomous. The US looked the other way even as the Pakistanis unleashed decades of terror on India even as the US stopped funding them after Afghanistan. Suddenly they realized at the beginning of this century that India can be an ally because it would be a counterweight against China, but continued ouring huge investments into China which depleted teh US of its manufacturing sector and made China the factory of the world. Now they want India against Russia and China.

@@LSD87-l2p I think the US would be better off not to see itself an beacon of values for others to emulate for the simple reason that it pursues its own national interests ruthlessly at the very expense of those very values it says it cherishes. This is not demonize the US as a villain, but its friends like India will certainly find breathe easy when US climbs down from its high moral pedestal and behaves like a mortal ! Because if the US doesnt do that, its friends also will start doing the same. India actually suffers a lot due to US actions. Just look at the US support to the fundamentalist regime in Bangladesh which siezed power from a democratically elected government. There is nothing morally righteous about what they did, stll they want India to consume the nonsense it's various agencies randomly preach. When similar things come from China, Pakistan, Canada, Turkey,we ask them to fuck off. With US we dont say that because of decency ,courtesy, and understanding that friends should have for eaxh other. But its moral policing is becoming intolerable now and public goodwill is the last thing you should be offendinge specially you have one in plenty in a friendly country who have no enmity OR animosity with the US. Treating friends with disdain is the worse than making a million enemies .You lose respect

Times are different now, the US is weak now and wants to ally with India to balance the power of Russia or China. This clearly shows that a multipolar world has arrived, especially when India does not want to ally with the US, and the EU also looks like an ally of the US, but in fact, the EU wants to be independent of the US. Moreover, the new Japanese Prime Minister came to power and he proposed that Japan station troops in the US, which expressed Japan's need for independence.

However, the situation changed dramatically when the USSR (now Russia) dispatched its nuclear missile-armed flotilla to the Indian Ocean, joining forces with the Indian Navy to patrol the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean. The group was formed without United States. US was added later on the insistence of Australia to that group. India and Japan dint want US since the perception of it being an anti-China group, which to this day since US joined has been a constant question Journalists keep asking if itis.

Then why does Modi beg European and American leaders to visit and invest. To receive all the investment going into China and direct it to India instead. Your GDP per capita is $2,000. You will never grow at the speed china did. Pipe down.

Jeffrey Sachs has my respect - the person who truly understands the world unlike those hypocrites who act like they are all the world is about. Not A Fun Fact: Americans conclude their speeches with "God Bless America". So it means God should not bless other nations.

..............................Why China is developed and India is already next Africa now ??? Why Chinese and Western companies will never invest in India in future ??? These are main reasons.. 1) Western slavery( Ghulam) corrupt parliament democracy in India now.. 2) No raw materials, no good infrastructure developments and no skilled workers in India now..... 3)43% Indian leaders( MP and MLA) are from criminal backgrounds ( Rapists, corrupt, gangsters) in India now so corruptions everywhere in India now... 4) Western ( American) propaganda media with fake news against (Communism) China and North Korea destroyed 19th century Indians minds forever now 5) One rape case in every 20 minutes in India according to Google now and everywhere loots in India now....

Sachs says that the USA started this policy from 2014 on, but it wasn't the USA that started this. It started in Ukraine. Putin blackmailed Yanukovic into not signing the EU association agreement. This led to widespread unrest in Kiev because Yanukovic ran on the idea that he would sign the EU association agreement. Yanukovic was ousted as president so Putin invaded Ukraine and annexed portions of the country. China supported the annexation while simultaneously building an anti-US alliance. China also removed the sovereign nature of Hong Kong which led to a drop in support for a similar deal in Taiwan. This lead to China taking a more aggressive stance on Taiwan, which is close allies with the USA. These two points of contention led to a series of protective steps which became more prominent as time went on.

Im always fascinated when i see guys talking about "decoupling". I know then for a fact they have never been to China. Nor have they been to India. Because they sure as hell dont understand how rich China is and how poor India still is. If they think the mostly very poor India can in any way, shaoe or form replace the consumer market of China then they nust be sniffing some good stuff. And given how many news stories you can easily read about new factories being opened in China by Gernany (Volkswagen is moving a large percentage of its production to China), The US and Japan (Panasonic recently started production on a new appliance factory in China)....it becones clear that decoupling is not what the western mainstream media claims. Sure....there will be some more diversification of production......but its literally impossible for companies to "decouple" from the country that makes most if the worlds priducts, and is most of the worlds main trading partner. Simple logic will tell you that.

Sirs, I'm Indian. But I don't believe that there's any conflict in between India and China.😂 Really so. Dalai Lama is a point of humanity, may be, but Indiashould be more careful about the person accused for neighbouring country's integration issue. Otherwise there's no point can sustain against Pakistan.😂. Truly. Further, nowadays it's implanted issue for internal politics,I.e., creating a delusion to keep people busy with foreign affairs forgetting internal crisis such as price hike, inflation, jobless, homeless, linguistic and cultural conflicts, religious conflicts and so on. Same happens in America in between USA and Mexico.😂 if there's really so severe problem then probably it would happen of crushing Mexico by USA. But it never happened. Only crisis remain unsolved to solve internal crisis. 😅😅

6:26 My goodness, the panic reaction is too hilarious & eye opening. It is essential to understand the reality - USA is a consumerism market, not a manufacturing market. For the whole video, as an Indian, we are no bodies allies. We are Non-Aligned. Period. When we buy oil for cheap from Russia, and sell it at higher prices to countries that don’t want to purchase it from Russia, we are simply doing business. And, the truth is that if India doesn’t do it, then some other country would. So, our government & businesses are just looking out for ourselves and making some profit in between.

@anthonycardenas78633 ай бұрын
The professor doesn't understand foreign relations very well. Why did we start to decouple from China in the first place? When we opened the market to China, they flourished and made promises and agreements to help and align with our democratic ideals. The U.S kept their end of the deal by provided American companies to move over and manufacture in China. China did not keep their end of the deal and started breaking promises and commitments, stealing American intellectual property, inching over on Indias border, stole military blueprint information from the west, they lied and didn't want democracy, just the benefits of a capitalist market that democracies benefit from. It's pretty easy to understand why we left China, if we kept trade going with China, it is not smart to economically support another superpower that is increasingly becoming more hostile, stealing and lying from the country that let you in to the global market which gave them the economic prosperity it has had to be on the world stage.
