My thoughts exactly. He's speaking as the Feyenoord manager also. Not saying everything he said throughout this was right, I think he could've kept it quiet until a bit later maybe. But he has a right to tell the clubs fans that he's off. Just because Liverpools timing wasn't perfect and we wanted to wait until the final game is irrelevant. As you said, England isn't the centre of the universe.

As a Feyenoord fan I didn't find Slot talking about wanting the move to Liverpool disrespectful. We all knew it was inevitable and we are very happy for him. Also maybe it's the Dutch culture of being very direct, but we rather know what's going to happen and be able to start working on the future then being surprised.

This new management system, which other clubs have adopted before us, now leaves the m̶a̶n̶a̶g̶e̶r̶ "head coach" out of the decision process. That's how it works fundamentally as a principle but I really do think the guy in charge of a squad should have a say who's in the squad to begin with lol. Be interesting to see how much involvement he has, we'd soon know if any Slot has a say if we sign someone from Feyernoord, with that being the most tell tale sign.

I don't really see the issue with Slot talking about moving to Liverpool. It was already well known public knowledge so I personally found it refreshing & appreciated the honesty & transparency. As did Feyenord & the fans I imagine. With regard to Salah, he definitely isn't ready to go to the football career graveyard that is the Saudi pro-league just yet. Whether he stays at LFC is a different matter but there's still plenty of life left in the old dog yet. If he stays, 20 league goals is a realistic & achievable target.

Salah isn't even the biggest issue. Liverpool aren't in control because if Salah chooses to stay, what can you do? At least there are still 4 other forwards in the team. The real problem is at CB. Beyond an ageing Van Dijk, you have the injury prone Konate, the very inexperienced Quansah and that's it (Gomez doesn't count anymore).When you have rival teams out there having 5 or 6 options, 3 is far too small in terms of depth. Part of the defensive issues was because Liverpool has had no stability at CB for a couple of seasons now. Yes Konate is at times great when fit but he misses close to 50% of the season all the time

Even as a Liverpool fan, I believe selling Salah will be the right move as he only has just one more year to go. Liverpool should be able to get at least £80 to £100 million for selling Salah to the Arab league. Use this money to sign young top rated players to improve the team. But Arne will still need some time to settle in...hopefully he doesnt take that long.

I don’t think there is any disrespect there. If looking at how Arne arrived to Feyenoord, A very demoralized team since Gio Van Bronchorts felt. Very little budged, staff, players etc. he had to work with what he had. Look what he did what that team. They made Champions League teams tremble in in the first face. Conference final, champions, Cup champions.. obviously you can’t compare Slot to Klopp. But I do see lots of similarities when it comes to Feyenoord and Liverpool, especially when it comes to the how the fans stand behind their squad no matter what’s going on. That’s why I love how Klopp left and asking n praising the fans to always keep pushing the captain. I mean who else did you want to take the job if Xabi didn’t. Also to compare Ten Hag to Slot.. no discussion, nothing similar. I think Liverpool made the right choice in my opinion.. only time will tell. Go Slot.

Endo has proven himself and now we have bajectic back to rotate with him to avoid burnout. we also have tyler morton coming back from loan and macca can play 6 if we really need. we need a cb to replace matip alongside sepp van den berg who ha had a great loan at mainz. we aalso need a long term replacement for salah and robertson as they are aging.

Bajectic will probaly require a fair bit of warm in time and if he gets injured again suddenly it looks like a thiago situation were fans are delusional and wont get a DM because of that "chance". Macca can play it, but it not ideal and thats very silly playing Mac there when he is world class further up. Agreed on CB but CM is definitely still a concern. Third focus should be on a quality proven winger to replace Salah when he leaves (whenever that is). Personally I think Kvara, Musiala or Neto. Or even get Oshimen and put Nunez on the wings were he has done things.

Absolutely we cannot lose 100million transfer fee and pay him 20 million in wages just to not change too much. Sell him and spend it all on Rodrygo and get him under a 5 or 6 year contract then at least you have some real value on the balance sheet in a top player at the end of next season rather than risk it all on a declining player who will walk for free.

I think Neto would be a cheaper option than Rodrygo and he is more proven. Wolves only want £60 million, to me that's a bargain for a Prem proven winger, Newcastle wanted 100 minimum for Gordon. If we want big bucks transfer Kvara is a better option than Rodrygo

He‘s the head coach not the manager, he will be given players that fit their data model and he will work with them. I think there is quite a lot of things to decide upon this summer for Liverpool. Players that we know are leaving include Matip and Thiago. Players that probably should leave to get more gametime are the likes of Kelleher, Adrian, Rhys, Nat, and probably Kostas. Players I would like Liverpool to sell (because there is a chance of getting an upgrade or because they are injury phrone) are Ibou, Joe, Mo and Endo. Players or type of players I would like Liverpool to recruit are a DM shield (Boubacar Kamara/Manu Kone/Cheick Doucoure/Youssouf Fofana), a left sided CB (A. Bastoni/Todibo/Geertruida/O. Diomande/ A.Silva / G. Inacio), new left back that could challenge Andy (Balde/ M. Gutierrez/C.Augusto), a new right winger (Nico Williams/B. Mbeumo/M.Edwards/M.Olise/M. Kudus) and a new backup goalkeeper (A.Trubin/J.Trafford/F.Jørgensen) Liverpool could probably get quite a fee for some of the players, making it easier to get som new ones through the doors. They also have some interesting prospect coming back, either from loan or injury, making up the numbers. I would probably have gone for M.Kudus, A.Bastoni, Balde and F.Jørgensen. This would probably cost Liverpool around 200 million, but I think perhaps they could sell for almost as much.
