I’m pretty sure that Liverpool scored a lot of goals in the games last season over the extra time period but that doesn’t really matter much to the whole city’s being treated better than anyone else in the league. I have not seen on any channel where they analyze how long it took between the whistle and trossard kicking the ball. My take will be 2seconds. A player in high gear in a high tempo match is expected to react to the whistle in 2seconds. They are not robots, they are human. Trossard would have planned the motion in his head, i do a shoulder charge on Bernardo and clear the loose ball. All happened in a time frame of 2 second. And trossard was already in the motion of kicking the ball when the whistle went. Yet everyone expect him to just stand still as the whistle went. He is human and just have 2 seconds to react.

The yellow is just a joke when you look at the Doku case from earlier. The play had been stopped for many seconds. Arsenal had placed the ball for a kick (too far from the spot of the foul). The ref told Arsenal to move the ball back. Doku knew full well that he had no right to be involved, but he very intentionally kicked the ball anyway. In comparison, Trossard had very little time to stop his kick and had a good reason to be trying to kick the ball (passing to Martinelli). Any ref trying to do his job would not have made those two decisions.

As an Arsenal fan I do think Trossard needs to avoid tempting fate given we know what happened to Rice. The frustration comes from the fact that refs like Michael Oliver are super willing to give softish reds to Arsenal but when its Kovacic with against us last year he uses his discretion as he doesn’t want to ‘ruin the game’. Also as a side note To Mr Burley’s point about Arsenal taking a quick free kick 10 yards away from the infringement that’s just factually incorrect. If he watches the game back he’ll see the free kick was for a foul on Thomas Partey from exactly where the free kick was taken. He’s thinking that the whistle was blown for an infringement on Timber a few yards behind when in fact it wasn’t. Kyle Walker was also more or less back in position, so much so that he was giving instructions to teammates and was out to Martinelli in due time because City did set themselves. Overall Arsenal should be satisfied with the point and make sure we win all the matches we’re supposed to moving forward. That’s how the league will be won

I’m getting tired of bad refereeing decisions every season costing Man City’s closest rivals games and points that end up losing them the league. Same happened to Liverpool last year and if the points they had lost due to bad refereeing decisions had counted they would have won the Premier League. Remember the Premier League allows Premier League referees and VAR officials during the season to go to the UAE, the country of Man City owners, to get paid lots of money to referee games and go to conferences. Surely this should not be allowed as this is a conflict of interest and effectively open bribery. If Prem refereeing are earning more money doing football gigs in the UAE, surely this creates a bias towards Man City.
