How could Danny Ainge have forseen Gordon Hayward snapping his leg. How could Ainge have saw Irving ruin the team chemistry and Horford walking out. Ainge did everything he could to build a championship team. He signed 2 max FAs in Hayward and Horford. Traded minimal assets for Irving. Drafted two young talents in Tatum and Brown. He had a great plan. Ultimately, Hayward's injury completely wrecked the timeline of his plan and there wasn't anything he could do. Trading for AD would have left Boston with a 1 year window and a long rebuild afterwards. Celtics didnt have the pieces for Butler or George yet. Stephen A Smith is good at his job but he's wrong here. Ainge literally made no moves that crippled the franchise. It all fell apart by unpredictable circumstances.

Idk how you could blame Danny ainge on not pulling the trigger when he has Kyrie Irving who had no signs of signing back with Boston so what’s the point of getting AD if he gonna be a one year rental and the pelicans wanted Tatum that’s why the deal didn’t happen why would you trade a potential star for the future for a one year rental that’s bullshit, idk why Stephen A and Max are blaming Danny ainge and al horford wants the MAX but clearly he isn’t that good anymore and he’s aging, Danny Ainge just faced some unlucky circumstances with some egotistical players

@Hector Salinas, he failed to resign James Posey in 2008 and Tony Allen in 2010, he traded Kendrick Perkins in 2011, he failed to acquired a quality wing in 2011 or a quality big man in 2012, though both were available, and he allowed Ray Allen to sign with Miami. Each of these moves was obviously bad at the time, seriously hurt their playoff prospects, and gained little in return. If you would like me to provide detailed reasons why these were such bad moves, let me know.

Danny Ainge doesn't do a trade unless he's clearly the perceived winner. Problem now is all the suckers have dried up and he's left with people who won't do business with him because they fear they'll be ripped off like the Nets were and originally the Cavs were when Kyrie first arrived in Boston. What's sad is he has all those firsts and no championship to show for it.

Honestly I don't know why people are worried. They still have Tatum, Brown, and other good pieces like Marcus Smart. With a healthy Gordon Hayward this year, they could really take off. @WilliamLloydBevan
@WilliamLloydBevan 5 жыл бұрын
My thinking is the young core could use those three years of cp3 style system play to grow and as a second or third option Hayward would be a better fit on rockets. Maybe even a Capella Cp3 for hayward and banes. They have kyrie and horford leaving and this would put them in contention in the east imo. +it would give rockets space to make a move for a big player in free agency too.

You can't blame anyone in Boston for what happened to Gordon Hayward, and you can't make a good or reasonable assessment on him until at least midway through next season and see if he rebounds, gets back to form, or you know how to get as much value as you can in a trade. I agree that Ainge has been afraid to pull the trigger on top talent and has been getting lousy returns for his efforts. Don't get me started on his draft picks outside the top 6 ( Ojeleye, Yabusele, Melo, Young, Hunter, Sullinger etc...) But look what happened once he signed Hayward. What message does the situation in Boston send to small market teams about building up assets, developing players and having a championship run in mind when after six seasons of wheeling and dealing moves that everyone else is in awe of and commends Ainge for don't pan out and "stars" still want to leave the team? Boston hasn't tanked over the last 40 years, but you look at teams like MIN, NYK, CLE, DAL, PHI, PHO, CHI, LAC, SAC, SEA/OKC, (a third of the league) and wonder if those cities will ever win a championship without a Jordan, James or Durant caliber player. The last 40 championships have been won by only 12 teams (LAL, GSW, SAS, HOU, DAL in the West; BOS, CHI, DET, MIA, PHI, CLE, TOR in the East; 4 of which were one timers with all time great talent DAL, PHI, CLE, & TOR). "Oh, thank you for drafting me and paying me for all these years but this town sucks, but I can't say that so i'm going somewhere else, but I will blame the GM, ownership, coach, teammates but not the town or fan base" Even if NOP get success, the players will move on away from the team for higher pay or better surroundings
