Hi Candace. I love watching your saving the cabin videos. I wanted to mention regarding litter trays. We used a product called Proteq Equine bedding with a shaker tray. I found the store bought ones to be much bigger than the standard trays but ive also seen youtube videos on people making bigger ones for big cats or cats with specific needs. One had them getting plastic totes that sit inside each other and drilling holes to make the sifter/shaker tray. The pellets I use are wood pellets that swell and become a fine dust when moisture (urine) hits it. This goes through the top tray with holes in it and stays the the bottom tray. I found that with once or twice daily removal of solid waste and a shake of the tray. You will see the saw dust will sometime not go down to the bottom try and I like to give it a shake at least daily. Then with 2 cats using the tray I find maybe once a week I will empty the bottom tray and rinse it out. Put it all back together and top up the pellets. I pay approx $20.00 for a bag if stable bedding and I swear it last my 2 cats 7 or 8 months. When I empty the bottom tray I put the contents into the garden and our lemon tree has loved the extra urea aswell as other plants. It's totally good for the garden. We have 2 Oriental Shorthair cats and I found 1 tray was being used almost all the time. The other tray we had was with the recycled cardboard pellets (breeders choice was the brand we had) and I was paying $35.00 per 15 kilo bag and needing ( when I was using only this litter) at least a bag every 2 or 3 weeks. Even with buying 2 store bought shaker trays and the litter I was much better off with the horse bedding. I first saw it on an American youtube clip and they said they buy theirs at tractor supply. In Australia we don't have tractor supply and the brand I saw on the video clip isn't available here. I can't find the original clip I saw or I would be able to tell you brands, but im sure if anyone of your viewers are interested in saving money on litter costs I really recommend looking into useling stable bedding. *warning* get the stable bedding that comes in a wood pellet, the directions say to rip the bag open wet with water till it fluffs up fully and a standard stable will take 12 to 15 bags to set up. Use it raw in the pellets format don't wet it down if using gor kitty litter.

So I have only one X-Large cat litter bin with a lid. I clean it every morning and it’s always been enough for my 3 furries. After trying a multitude of litters, including the crazy expensive pretty kitty or pretty litter, I LOVE the Fresh Step outstretched with febreeze. It keep odors away completely and it lasts forever.

I love that! Senior cat who’s 13. lol. Mine aren’t seniors until 21. I’m a huge fan of more rather than less with litter boxes. And mine are very large cuz my Jensen is a flinger. I’m going to love your catio! Can’t wait for your updates!

Take a tree that has lots of branches and put in the corner for the cats,you could hang things from the branches for them to play with,just a thought!

Put carpet around that pole. Cats love to climb and claw on carpet poles. Maybe put a few landing ares up on the pole. I think that will look great and the cats will use it to get to the 2nd floor out of reach of the puppy..

The porch fell off where the doors are. When we get to the point where we can add onto the cabin, we think we may have the builders put a porch back. But that’s one of many options right now.

It sounds like you have put a lot of thought into fun for the cats. Maybe the cat boxes in front of the long windows so they can see out. What kind of screen are you thinking of for the porch? Our cats shred the normal screen over windows and the screen door. With the log cabin maybe use a real tree. I know our cats love running up the trees and coming back down. Maybe put a platform to get on at the “top” of the tree. It wouldn’t have to be real tall just some limbs and platform Charlie proofed of course. We have some like him also. Lol 🫣🤭😬

I think plexiglass is the better choice. I would be afraid of them hurting their legs of feet with netting. Just my opinion of course.

I didn't catch the name of the liter you use..I've used so many and if I don't scoop 3 to 4 times a day it smells I haven't found any to cover the sent so I won't need to scoop so much..help ..😢

Seems like more consideration for cats than for a male and female child rooming together.... just saying. It is cat this and cat thar and cat everywhere all over the house. There will even be cat stuff in the one bedroom that the boy and the girl share together.....
