Enrico Caruso at his very best : Ombra Mai Fu (aria only) 19th Jan 1920 (new improved restoration)

This is the aria Ombra Mai Fu from Handel's 1738 opera Xerxes. It was recorded by Enrico Caruso 19th January 1920.He died the following year at just 48 years of age.In the aria the singer is actually admiring a tree and the translation is as follows.
Tender and beautiful fronds
of my beloved plane tree,
let Fate smile upon you.
May thunder, lightning, and storms
never disturb your dear peace,
nor may you by blowing winds be profaned
Never was a shade
of any plant
dearer and more lovely,
or more sweet
