Original 78 - one just hears nuances of that great, velvet voice that one doesn't hear in the processed versions. I have uploaded hundreds of Caruso recordings, but unfortunately they have all been "remasterings" - electrical or digitally. This is the REAL STUFF ! However poor the original 78 recordings are, they are the closest to the beauty of Enrico Caruso we can get. This is a great contribution to the legacy of Enrico Caruso and I thank you from the bottom of me heart.

I must have heard this song in a gazillion versions, but this one beats them all. This made my day! Thank you so much.

Enrico Caruso (Italian pronunciation: [enˈriːko kaˈɾuːzo]) (February 25, 1873 - August 2, 1921) was an Italian tenor. He sang to great acclaim at the major opera houses of Europe and North and South America, appearing in a wide variety of roles from the Italian and French repertoires that ranged from the lyric to the dramatic. wow! Fantastic Performance!!! Thank you for sharing this video.

@MrYellowman584 - Private message later... Yes, I see what you mean regarding more information in the old recordings (extracted with the proper technique). I don't quite understand the last part of your comment: "What do you winthen if you add a reproduction in deficit, to a recording in deficit?"

@tomfroekjaer I think it is an interesting point, i'd like to discuss in this forum. I know, the purists wouldn't like my stuff anyway. I I share the fascination for the old machines (otherwise I would't be concerned with that thing). But on the other hand, couldn't there be much more information in these old recordings? Perhaps these machines could do really more than what is recognizable on the surface? What do you winthen if you add a reproduction in deficit, to a recording in deficit?

@tomfroekjaer No, of course I'm not absolutely sure, but I hear nuances that I have not heard before. Maybe only in your restorations. I'll send you a private message shortly.
