I remember playing this as a child. You're a merc working with eco-terrorists attempting to stop a corporation from mining out the planet's spirit and inadvertently getting caught up in a battle to stop a far more dangerous and ancient evil from awakening. Man this was a good game. This remake really puts me in a good place, thanks.

This will ALWAYS be the most hype opening to a game to me. The beautiful build up of the strings and horns along with the opening cinematic of the train entering Midgar. Then Avalanche ambushing the guards finally signaling Cloud down which he graceful enters the scene, gracefully flipping from the train. I can't wait until this game is released...I'm just hoping it lives up to the hype and does justice to the original game.

I remember being in a game store in the 90s, and on the TV they had the demo of FF7 playing on a loop, which was the bombing mission and this music playing over and over and I LOVED it then and I love it now.

GOD, this owns. I really like this one, yes, even with the REMAKE in mind, this has a sort of "Royal-Guard-Charge" treatment to it that totally, totally works. The extension of certain notes and the percussion drums hit with "this is it" levels of momentum, which is in this version compared to the REMAKE's remix, you can feel the urgency in this. That's Awesome. Good work.

This song fit really well with my most recent playthrough of train level in CoD:Ghosts. The music went hard when the helo shot the train, punched again as we breached the last door, and faded out as Hesh said "checkmate". Since it's a remake though then at least we know the music, the plot, and characters will be good(I mean, how badly can you butcher something that you're just imitating, right?). Even if it doesn't live up to expectations, at the very least it should be decent. That's what we're hoping for anyway. From the trailer, seems like the characters are at least looking great. That's a start.

They had the distant worlds orchestra make the music for the remake trailer, hopefully they will be using them on the remake game as well, because all their FF orchestral versions are amazing in my opinion. Well done but for one small detail which I also noticed in other of your work: You seem to be shy of letting solemn moments into your work. You always fill them up with background. But sometimes it's important to let a few notes speak for themselves without having an army of other notes drown them. Especially noticable here in the intro and when comparing it to the Distant Worlds orchestral recording of the piece by Uematso himself. Sometimes less is more. But other than that really astounding rendering of music!

Man, this is really nice. I only have two suggestions: Boost the brass and strings by about 10%, and when the brass first sets in, give it a (steep) gradual curve. Right now the brass just "shows up" and feels really hurried, wheras in the original it really fights for room.
