2:11 is my favorite part. I first heard it in a disorganized 4 hr playlist just half an hour ago, but thankfully I managed to track the name of the piece down very quickly thanks to its unique instrumentation relative to other works of Vivaldi. Great performance

I know this piece only from a mid-1970s ABC-TV special called "Infinite Horizons." It looked at the advances in technology up to that point and speculated about how mankind was going to explore the stars. It was narrated by Ray Bradbury. The first couple minutes of this sinfonia were featured on the soundtrack. I liked this piece and a couple of others but wasn't able to catch the names when the credits rolled. So I wrote a letter to ABC and received a reply soon after from a woman who listed all of the music from the show.

I watched it by myself at an almost empty cinema hall when I was 15 and remember I cried my eyes out.

There is zero, zilch, nada, no point in trying to play in a period style while using modern instruments, bows, and metal strings, it cannot be done. Such an ugly sound.
