One of the greatest bands in any genre as far as I'm concerned. They were there in the beginning of modern metal and are still relevant almost 40 years later. Piggy is immortal.

Got the cassette when it came out. I was in the Navy. I used to listen to it while staring into the ocean.

I just discovered Voivod. I played some tracks and when I was listening to “clouds in my house” and I was impressed by that unique sound, so I decided to listen to the record which contained that song… so I listened to “Angel Rat” three times in a row and I must say this record is such a master work, all the songs are brilliant! All the instruments, the production… everything is perfect, that’s why now I’m looking for some opinions because I really consider “Angel Rat” like an underrated work in history of rock music.

Voivod toured with FNM and Soundgarden in support of Nothingface 1989-1990. Talk about an eclectic show. Voivod is beyond underrated . Synchro Anarchy their latest release is amazing

"Puzzled" was always the case for me every time I heard any of their albums for the first time, even live. Still, they are one of my favourite bands of all time. Not a weak album in their discography (except maybe Katorz). Angel Rat... crazy stuff indeed. And Enslaved is crazy too.

Hi everyone here, I remastered the whole Angel Rat Demo, it's call ALVEOL and released it a few months ago on our own label Minemine Records, where of course you can buy it direct from us now, only available on vinyl, why because vinyl is very very cool, so if you want go get it and make certain that the band will finally make some money, cause yeah we never make much of this release, we are still in the whole , like half a million. But by buying it all the monies is going to the original band members.

I love this so much. I love Angel Rat and watching this just makes you want to listen to it even more. It also got me into Enslaved, which is really cool.

I had the same initial reaction to Angelrat, and later it hit me and I got it. There have been a few albums like that for me, and when it happens those albums tend to be some of my favorites.

Back when this came out I worked at a major record distributor and I was shopping after my shift for albums/tapes/ CD's and I saw this Voivod Angel Rat Cassette and I loved the cover so I got it. It blew me away and I still listen to it to this day. I got the CD also but sadly never the Vinyl version.

If I could put one million likes I would. This guy and his band has this extra down to earth something that I would find on some of my friends. Great taste as well...my favourite album from Voivod also....cool video !

Been listening to Enslaved for a long while now and only recently started listening to Voivod, and I was surprised at how much Voivod sounds like Enslaved (specifically the vox on the new record), which of course means it's in the reverse and that Enslaved seems to be massively influenced by Voivod haha.

I agree with the thoughts on this record wholeheartedly. When it came out, the younger version of myself kind of initially dismissed it as being not metal or wacky enough. Over time , it’s become one of my all time favorite records. A bizarre clash of classic Voivod weirdness with a bit more pop and production gloss. The songwriting is just excellent. Grutle Kjellson taking about Voivod is the crossover my soul needed. Thanks for making this happen, Revolver.

Voivod's Angel Rat is an underrated gem! Voivod in general are a truly original band, when you hear them you know it's them!

The amazing thing is that I always had the exact same opinion on how they failed to be mainstream, there are a lot of catchy moments fucked up by weird voivod trips, I love this record!

I’m surprised Angel Rat hasn’t been released on vinyl as all their other albums have, except Nothingface and The Outer Limits; that’s probably down to MCA (as those three were released via them). Either way, they’re missing a trick, here. Them and Rush are my favourite bands. Great music all round!🤘🏻🙂

I saw Voivod on the 1987 ToUrNaDo for Killing Technology., w/Kreator- Then I saw them in DC on Nothingface with FNM & Soundgarden opening. By that time in the tour, the opening bands had become much bigger than Voivod so it was a strange show. The club stopped Voivod between songs to announce that D.C. Mayor Barry was just arrested smoking crack with a hooker, on TV!. The crowd went nuts & the band played the next song.

My copy isn't in the best shape but I got it 2nd hand around 20 years ago... I haggle over the price I remember and think it was about £15? Seemed a lot anyway for such an obscure band. On the bonus side it actually had a press release inside. Good record but definitely not Nothingface. I remember reading somewhere Snake saying early Soul Asylum was a big influence on it...

What’s funny is how Angel Rat is deemed a commercial failure and how it’s perhaps Voivod’s softest album. However, their “softest” album is still a very, very good album.
