@@Damnedlegion40k if that was the case then the enslavers are inteligent enough to command troops, and kickstart a cruzade, it was an enslaver that dominated terra, and created the human webway, that then was destroyed, and is now held together by that very same enslaver, unlikely, if you ask me, no the emperor might be one of, if not the only left, man of gold, at most, on that póint, it is possible, we know very little on the man of gold, other than they were just, superior, what the emperor obviously classify, but if so, why would he go to such lenghts to save mankind? The Enslavers are wild animals - they have no leader to assassinate, no city or homeworld to target, no ideology to debunk and no goals to subvert or sabotage beyond the primal need to feed and reproduce. They have no technology, no infrastructure, no fortifications or strongholds. They have no language or concept of diplomacy. They have no culture to collapse if their numbers get too few. They have no interest in hearing your bravado about your perceived superiority. How does on wage war against that? No wonder Trazyn lives in fear of their return.

The Imperial records of the Enslavers are sparse and few, but what is written within them has haunt my dreams for a day. Many within the Imperium known the Daemons of the Warp and how they are pieces of their Dark Masters, but the Enslavers are living breathing creatures that live in that hellish plane of existence. They are hyper-lethal to many within the Galaxy, but in particular the Psykers are easy prey too these monsters, and once one pysker become a host then entire planets could fall victim to an entire infestation of them. Truly the Enslavers a horror that the Galaxy has endure, and one which could become a more common sight within the Dark Imperium without our Emperor Divine Light shielding us from these dangerous predators.

We don't know everything about the warp, but we do know it's much *much* deeper than can be imagined. The Chaos Gods are not subject to time, as far as I'm aware they have *always* existed within the warp, and have devoured many universes.

@@Tracker947 Nah man, read the FFG 40k rpg books written by Dan Abnett and read up on eldar lore. There are chaotic entities that existed before the current Chaos gods. The Chaos gods around now came from human psyches but lots of lore alludes to prehuman chaotic gods. The Yuvath for instance, to some extent the Eldar gods are also chaotic gods and part of the war in heaven involved the eldar fighting their own gods. It is specifically stated in many many sources the warp at the beginning of the universe was a calm place. The modern chaos powers are actually very recent, but the threat of warp powers breaking into reality is itself a very old problem. Chaos gods existing outside of time does not mean they are eternal. Your version of things is much closer to the fantasy version of the chaos gods, in that lore it is established that this cycle of worlds being created and inevitably destroyed by chaos is now basically canon with the death of the World that Was.

The Chaos Gods are also stated to have devoured *many* universes before their advent in the Milky Way, which is just a drop in the ocean for them. My counter to the idea that they were "created" by the flood of negative emotions is that that only means that they made themselves known after that tide of emotions. The deepest anyone's peered into the warp was still barely surface level, and beings that weren't even full fledged Chaos Gods were creating and destroying universes on a whim. I cite Webcam Parrot's video "How Big is the Warp" or whatever it was called as more or less the sole basis of my belief that the gods were not simply "created".

I've only played the game a little but I had an idea for how they could function. You could have enslavers and also units from other armies in your enslave army, as long as you have enough points. So 5 enslavers and then a space marine, an ork, an eldar etc. This would create a lot more combinations and strategy and give them a unique twist and advantage. The drawback should be that these other units are controlled by the enslavers, so if one of them dies, one 9f the non enslave units is now taken over by your opponent and will fight against you.

I like to think that the enslaves are actually the sloughed off portions of Necrontyr souls that were shredded as they were sent into the Warp - the congealed urge to dominate and lord over others the original Necron harbored inside themselves, but completely disconnected from the Necron's complex intelligence.

@@CheffBryan Hmmm, that would be an interesting interaction to see put into a proper story format. The only interaction I think I have ever seen between the two was part of a rpg setting I think - not exactly reliable. I would think a Genestealer cult could certainly find itself hard pressed by an infestation, but a full fleet arriving with the Shadow in the Warp seems like it would disrupt the enslaver's ability to reproduce via psychic implantation. I'm not a fan of the theory that the Tyranids are an Old One bioweapon meant to "reset" the galaxy as some people have put forward - but if it were true, I imagine the point of the weapon would be to wipe out a galaxy fully infested by enslavers and would therefore have abilities naturally antithetical to their existence.

@@Dontreallycare5 I'd like to think the whole other way around, that Tyranids are still a completely outside force and the Enslavers have ways to deal with the Shadow in the Warp, like requiring two of them to be near two different stars and can only dissolve the shadow between those two points. It could disrupt the fleet, but isn't a perfect solution, so there's some balance for story intrigue.

Just stumbled across your channel! I've been watching many Warhammer 40k. vids from other YT channels for a while now! I thought I knew what the Enslavers were, OH S%#@! I had no idea that the Old Ones fought these things, or the reason why the Old Ones refused to help the Necrontyr, was they saw a darkness in them, that they would cause far more destruction if they helped them! I didn't know that the Old Ones actually helped the races they came across! Other channels made it seem that it was more one sided, the Old Ones refused to interfere in other developing races, and the Necrontyr begged them for help, and cruelly refused! The fact that the Enslavers pre-dated MANY of the other beings in the Warp! WOAH! One learns new stuff every day! The way you presented them was amazing! You got my Sub.!

Once there was an imperial merchant. Some of her old friends were cheating her on some deals which was weird because these people were like family to her. She followed them to an abandoned Chapple. She noticed a weird light that fealt wrong. She entered the Chapple and then she saw it. Hovering above her friends was a strange orb of light with tentacles. An awful noise was filling her ears. Everything about this creature was wrong as if every instinct was telling her to run. Her friends seemed to twitch with each movement of the creature. Soon she realized the awful noise filling her ears was her own screaming. She ran as fast as she could but the light soon intruded into her own head demanding that she halt. She fell off a nearby ledge and noticed that whatever it was the creature was floating on the edge of the ledge. She was beyond the influence of it's control. She booked passage off world after all that. She never went back. Ever again.

I feel like the Old Ones screwed up, they could have helped the Necrontyr stop their suffering without empoweering them too much. You don't have to make them nigh immortal, just stop their chronic pain and increase their lifespan by half. But this is 40k where no one makes good decisions

Imagine coming across a planet of people whom you taught and hepled develop in harmony with other life just to found the planet bombed into wasteland with most dead and very few survive turned into slaves and then the people who did that approaching you with the demand to better *their" lives and when you, being a psychic god, peer into their soul, you see that no, if you cure them, they will not change their ways, only be less restrained.

Fabulous, thank you uncle Baldy, so 1 question, given the enslavers mastery of psykers, what is the effect of psychic blanks on enslavers? Could they be an anathema to them? Is this humanities one true weapon against them? Given the Imperium's somewhat interesting attitude towards xenos and their ilk, would that be a problem?
