Make a little hanging station, put 2 fences 4 blocks above the cauldron, then a barrier 2 blocks above the cauldron, get a villager and name it Grumm or Dinnerbone, then you could put barriers around the villager.

@@emenova3553 Oh thanks, i didnt know, I posted this comment in a fugue state one year ago, and have no memory of the occasion now. Although sculk sensors hadn't been revealed at the time, i'm afraid i still could have forgotten to mention them, as i am pretty sure their eventual existence had been revealed to me in a prophetic dream. Although, again, I have no memory of that time in my life, when i did eventually come to there were 10 notebooks by my bedside table filled with detailed descriptions of future minecraft updates. So it's really inexcusable i didnt mention sculk sensors in my original comment.

*Nice!* Would be fun to design a Survival adventure map for once, this opens up tons of possibilities. I do have a question though.. For instance, villagers could travel across several chunks in some pseudo city, but keeping the villager's mind's separate would be hell though. You'd have to ensure villager #1 has a role until villager #2 (who has no role) reaches their role, which means there can't really be more than 1 villager in motion at a time right? At least not in a 32 block radius, which would somehow make a custom city feel less alive than a normal Minecraft village

using the pathfinding to a job explained at 6:15 , you could make a maze, and have the player use switches and pistons to "guide" the villager to the exit. There are soo many minigames you could make using this stuff

Speaking of the new Villager's AI, a few months ago I was in a fairly new survival world and I came across a village with a ravine cutting across one end. There was this adorable baby villager who had fallen into the ravine, and I felt bad for the lil' guy and went down in to help him out. I didn't exactly expect anything to come of it, since I didn't have any way to steer him up, and there was a cave connected to the ravine from which I could hear some growling. So I get down in there and come up to the baby villager, he's pacing around, and then he turns and looks up at me. I'm just trying to get a way out at this point and I dig up some dirt along the side and move it out of my way, then use it to make a *very* shoddy staircase. (It wasn't even in a straight line) To my extreme surprise, the villager kiddo actually followed me up the staircase and waited for me to make the next part, which took a moment as I needed to get more dirt, and then followed me all the way to the top back into his village. I was pretty impressed and pleased, in my experience villagers aren't usually the most cooperative in helping you help them. Not sure if it was just a MASSIVE coincidence, but it really didn't look like it at the time.

By using the path finding tricks you could essentially create a decorative factory with villagers running through bridges or paths. That'd be pretty cool.

The villager pathfinding bridge thing is actually kinda neat, you can detect when a player is trying to build a bridge and essentially make a trap around that

We could also use the job profession stuff for the drawbridge, with the added advantage that other villagers nearby won’t be interfered by a bell. With some redstone wiring you can request passage by the press of a button and you can decide on which side the villager stays!

This could make lava/water moats around your base a lot more useful! You could make the villager step on the pressure plate when an enemy builds a bridge over your moat. Which could then activate traps or warn you.
