Willie Marks, the older gentleman at 9:00, was my great-grandfather. I never got the chance to meet him.

I love how the elders are watching and making sure the young are getting it done right for both music and dance. I love and miss Juneau Alaska so much (2000-2004).

Just came back from Alaska cruise and impressed by Tlinget culture/performance whice I have seen there and feeling so touched! I think they keep the tranditional culture which is so precious very well, they asked us not vedio or taking picuture while they are performing. I surprisely found some of the Alaska native look just like Asian meaning we have same ancestory long long time ago (more than 10000 years ago), so amazing!

You must WORK, and drive and PAY, DEEP DOWN. IT COSTS FIRST TO JUST LEARN CHICHACO, THEN: YU GO SOUTH IN YUHOE, AN YOU BUY A YUGO TO COME BACK THRU ATHOL IEEDEEHOE, AND YU FIND AND HUNT POLAR BEARS WITH PEA SHOOTERZ. THEN WE LEARN FROM BEING CHEE CHACO, TO listen 🎶😌to CREECH and Chong: we all kinda known but it TAKES MORE TIME BUT WE LEARN BETTER AGIN 🏕⚠️

So bummed out how many cultural leaders that were and are overlooked due to the negative in our world. The leaders we have I hope don't lose sight of those who hold's them up, the many, the enduring, the hard working who have to support our community with daily tasks at work, wishing to be among, dancing and being merry. To those who are paid to go, appreciate the opportunity and gifts of getting to be professional natives, cause once we are back in full strength in our nation, we'll have to look to you. Would just be a shame come to find out, all the funding and fundraising to send people out to dance out of state, just so those get a "free vacation", taking advantage of good will and efforts of the people. To those who are from the ones working hard to press our traditions to the future, you're outnumbered.

Thanks so much for this. I'm a novice playwright currently crafting a script that involves a Haida maiden and a black postal carrier during the 19th Century. Would love to converse with all that can give me any insight--- especially when it comes to folklore. .

I am doing research on Potlatches for my cultural anthropology class. The information is good, however the sound is not. The subtitles are pitiful and don't follow what is being said at all. The footage is amazing .I love seeing a family prepare food.
