Our game group starts with about 30min of talking about nothing to do with the game. Once the game starts less than half the time is spent playing and talking about the game. The game is just an excuse to hang out.

This session was a little different for us. Usually there is some catching up talk, but then when I start the game it's mostly just playing the game. This session they were finishing up character creation so we had about 1 hour wtih 2-3 players doing that and the others just talking because they had already finished.

At 3:28:00 one of the PCs uses Assurance and says they get a 16. At level 1 I don't think Assurance can be any higher than 13, the common misinterpretation is that the bonus from the statistic associated with the skill is added in (for Society that is INT), but it doesn't. That is part of the cost of using Assurance, you only get the 10+lvl+proffeciency (so +2 for trained). I suppose if the skill you took the assurance in was at expert at level 1 (I think there might be a few rare cases where this is possible, but I think that they may require free archetype and more commonly happen at 2nd level), then it would be 15 (10+level+4 from expert).

I know this is from a few weeks ago. But, assurance only adds 10+level+proficiency bonus. So, at level 1, you only get 13. 10+1(level) + 2( trained). You don't add any other modifiers.

going to enjoy falling asleep during this (I'll go back to the last thing I wakingly remember tomorrow), ALWAYS _the _*_Best_*_ Dreams_ {fell asleep during a Bill Allen "Lamenters" & dreamed that he said I could play 2 characters that he'd been playing, but he kept not giving me the character sheets. I kept arguing they were doing the wrong things & Bill's 2 pc's were leading them astray. Only slept for 40 minute nap, that fast into dream theater. } As Queensryche quotes: *_"There, that should do it. Sweet dreams...you bastard."_*

I'm only 3 minutes in but I have to say something right away. THANK YOU for having good quality sound! I've seen gaming sessions where everyone had their own mic have horrible quality but here you have the whole table and I can hear everyone clearly. Fantastic. The whole "frequent traveller because I'm over 200 years old" thing makes sense... but not from an info gathering standpoint. If the elf has been all over the world, one can assume he's been in most places... but has not visited one place more than once every 50 years. Which really doesn't help in knowing who to ask for what. Anyways, that's my view on it. Gobbo pulls a butcher knife from his pants to stab a PC... yeah that's how you get diseases alright!

This is what a real gaming table looks like. Don't get me wrong, I love Critical Role and other live plays that are very polished but if any new players want to know what to expect at a real table then it looks like this is the live play to watch. Snacks, people chatting about whatever, and folk just prepping to play a game. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

@2:52:52~~ _the door opens: it's jamb reflecting the green outlined, heavily scarred elf wearing naught else except some exquisitely tooled, maroon, 20 eye Doc Martens {easy to picture} & a flimsy grey silk toga, & a silvery torc. From the torc's balls, one light chain leads to a plain, unpolished ulna-bone rod dangling around her stretch marked belly button. The other thorny links trail up & behind her, the green dancing flames writhing about as she strides perkily inside. 5 goose steps in & the door frame is filled with a green glaring very broad chest, then a ducked head of a kilted, bare-foot 8'+ _*_Ogrillon_*_ wearing an interns lapels attached to the other end of the chain holding 3 loops of the increasingly large & darkening links._ The Lady sorceress marches past your table & the hunched Ogre points at your Gnome & rumbles dreadfully: *_NERD!_* The chain doesn't even go taut before he marches past revealing an ashen *"79"* tattoo'd hugely over his burnt umber hued skin. [ _Revenge of the Nerds_ ] woke up from dream to barroom raucous yelling. Hope that was okay. (same guy just on my normal ttrpg channel). Digging the snapped picks, should've gotten them from the Lock Picking Lawyer. =) Cherish is the new love, Be well.
