Alot of these bring back memories. It was alot of fun taking the bus to a transit center to take another bus just to get to the mall while listening to music on either your walkman or portable cd player with headphones and a back pack with munchies drink and alot of backup batteries.

Awesome. My favorites will always be the Fishbowls. The last time I got to see any buses up close was when we went to the NY Transit Museum Bus Festival a few years ago. I have never been to the one in NJ. I'd love to go, maybe next year.

Oh man do those 2 GMC 'fishbowl' busses bring back a memory for me. Especially the second one (the 1960) with the manual transmission. I remember my father taking me to New York City when I was around 8 on one of those. My uncle was driving the bus!

The old bus brings back memories of us kids taking a bus to see a Giants game in the 70s when it was cheap to see games and it was a normal much less greedy country with no nut jobs taking kids.

I wish that a 2007 Orion 7 Hybrid from NYCT was present at the Historic Bus Festival. I just don’t get why the Bus Team at Lakewood wants to pass on this bus when it is NOT a CNG Model. If it was CNG, then preserving one wouldn’t be an option because replacement cylinders are expensive per bus. I attempted to email them about preserving an Original Generation Orion 7 Hybrid from NYCT for the Museum Fleet but they believe that it is not a good idea to have it preserved citing the fact that it will require an extensive battery replacement. They must understand that a Hybrid Bus utilizes Diesel Fuel like a Straight Diesel Bus. It would’ve been really nice if they could’ve acquired 6854 because it was the last remaining NYCT Operated Orion 7 Original Generation Hybrid built by Orion Bus Industries to operate in revenue service. It retired from the Queens Village Bus Depot on July 12th, 2022 with the final run occurring on the Q36 Route and it left the Queens Village Garage on July 14th, 2022. They must understand that the Orions will become history once the last remaining Orion 7 Mode retires in 2025-2026. I really hope that they will consider preserving an Orion 7 Hybrid because it will be very nice if that bus gets restored back in the “Original Livery” including the “Black-back”. I miss those buses in the original livery. If they don’t preserve one, the MTA is really going to regret not saving one because they must recognize that the Orion 7’s were the first successful Hybrid Buses and a lot of great things happened with those buses. The ones at MTA Bus Company are also in the process of being retired and are being replaced by displaced NYCT Orion 7 Next Generation Hybrid’s. With the retirement that took place on July 12th, 2022, this officially marks the end of the Orion 7 Original Generation era under NYCT after 21 consecutive years. It would’ve been really nice if the MTA did a final run for that bus model because it was only 13 days away for the 20 year anniversary of the first Orion 7 Hybrid model. It really upsets me that the MTA thinks that there is nothing iconic about the Orion 7 Fleet when in reality, they are iconic buses and we are going to miss those buses. Shame on the MTA for thinking that way. I will persuade to the MTA to please reverse their decision and preserve an Orion 7 Hybrid because they deserve to be part of the “Museum Fleet.”

prior to the plandemic the core to the island city here had become congested again by suburban buses, so they're building another metro line...but that plushily cushy '89 suburban featured here really drives home just how many services must ply sprawling communities stateside..!

I love old buses, trains, cars, busses,,, from the 50s and 60s. Man our country was on top of the world. Where did a the illegals, bums, homeless come from??? Another country?

The original green one from the early 60's is the one that we would immediately break out the rear windows and throw the seats out the punched out window...the driver would try to drive to the police station but it was fruitless

The Philadelphia transportation company.. The driver wouldn't listen to the cord and wouldn't stop at your stop...I can still smell the disgusting odor from the bus and people on it
