It happens a lot in cheer, as I’m a cheerleader myself, it’s very scary but more than 90% of the time, the flyer does not hit the floor. I can speak for all back-spotters and bases when I say that we’d rather get hurt than let a flyer fall out of a stunt.

I am also a backbase and I agree. I have gotten black eyes and concussions from catching my flyer, but it's scary to me, as a backbase, that the flyer leaned forwards rather than backwards. I know that I can't help her from getting hurt if she falls the opposite direction

It was the stunt she falls forward. It was the purpose of stunt. Hers may not have landed perfect but if you look at the stunt groups you’ll see the stunt and them all doing it.

I can’t lie this was a great performance. But there was so much wrong with it. Bases leaning in too far, not staying sturdy. Flyers not staying tight. Not hitting the moves at the same time. It was beautiful but it needed some work
