absolutely, I would not disagree. However, however nice Adele is, virtually all her songs are the result of someone who sounds like a 6th form poet (no harm in that) but whose life is exposed in the media and very public, then writes songs about all the things that go wrong with her life, relationships, etc. Again, nothing wrong with it, if that's your bag, but there are far better song writers out there who tend to not just focus on a bleeding heart and cliched black and white videos for effect, but actually make you think about yourself and life in a reflective manner. All this twoddle about people identifying with Adele is purely her fanatics believing if she farted it's a holy act, and therefore only see all she does as incredible. However, each to their own as you say, but sometimes this emotion is purely based on a desire to only see what you want to see.

She said to Oprah she wants peace of mind and stability in her life. She also said her ex husband was the most stable person she’s ever known. I watched the special and thought…wow she actually had what she said she wanted. But it wasn’t making her happy. I’d have to say her childhood has made her feel that way. That love and stability is new to her. I hope she finds what she’s looking for. As someone whose parents have been together over 40 years I can tell you happiness comes and goes. I think a lot of kids who grow up with a single parent develop this narrative in our minds about how one day we’ll be married and it will last forever, and how our own kids will have both parents, only for many of us to grow up and end up divorced or single parents ourselves. And that can be heartbreaking. Through my own journey as a single parent I learned that not all relationships are meant to last, that having one happy parent is better than having two miserable ones, and that plenty of children without fathers/married parents grow up happy and healthy, provided that parenting is approached in a conscious way. I am truly proud of Adele. In spite of the societal pressure all of us experience, she ultimately prioritized her own happiness. People tend to see divorce as a failure when making that choice requires so much strength and bravery. I hope she eventually sees things that way and is able to make peace with her marriage ending.
@laurynh95573 жыл бұрын
this! my parents grew up with this mind set and stayed together much much longer than they should have. they didn’t separate until i was 22 (almost 27 years married), well after the damage had been done, unfortunately. i’m happy we all are working towards peace now, but i know the importance of a happy home for children. i make the joke that i think i’ll be someone to divorce really quickly LOL, but i just care more about fortifying my kids than staying married. i’m glad Adele knew to get out of that situation sooner than later ❤️

You don’t get to be married for 49yrs without putting in the work! Happiness comes from within. You can’t expect to change your partner, changing your own life is a task. You approach it with the intention of building a life together and sharing the same values, and having a genuine interest in your partners ideas, dreams and goals. Respect the person your partner is and walk beside them and support their personal growth and achievements. You have to take care of yourself in the relationship, nourish your own ideas and passions.

It takes a lot more than love and passion to make a relationship last, it's freely there at the start but a few years in unless you actively work on furing those particularly trying times when one partner feels depleted due to a job loss or depression or loss of a loved one, you face the music together or it will come to divorce. My parents have been married for 45 years so I've seen it first hand. Alternatively it took me me a minute to understand that there's beauty and deep love in stability. I dated problematic men in my 20s and whilst the drama and pace was "exciting" it didnt feel good. My now partner is amazing, trustworthy and will support my dreams no matter what. We faced so many hurdles together and we've achieved this level of stability that felt new to me personally. It took me a minute I'm not ashamed to say to recognise that stability isn't boring, that this is love and trust in its deepest form and like my parents we have to actively show up to maintain it. Neither of us are perfect but we work on it. And most importantly that I deserve a love like this. Anyway, we learn these lessons, and I hope Adele finds what she is looking for as well.

Almost every "celebrity" aka artist who worked their ASS off to get where they are, came from humble roots. And that is where Oprah and good interviewers connect. And I loved that Oprah had the right instincts to change her outfit to white. The optics were beautiful.
🤔Some people stay married for different reasons, kids, economic stability, or just being used to someone. That's why in past generations people stayed. Not all due to love That's a lie. The reason this happens a lot now, is because women are much independent and the notion of divorce is no longer a huge deal. We look back at our grandmas and mothers and see how they "stayed" and secretly weren't happy.😥 new generations of women don't want to be them. Life is too short. Adele has it all, doesn't need to stay in any relationship that has gone cold..🤷🏻♀️

The thing about marriage is that it's supposed to be hard. It's an obligation to stand by someone through good and bad times and even when love has gone cold. It's about proportional compromise. The thing about modern women/modern man (mostly women) is that they attribute marriage to what people do on T.V. They also tend to compare their friends marriage to that of their own to validify their level of happiness. You couple that with the fact they have the same opportunities as men and you get an easy route of stepping away from the marriage when it "seems" like it's not going your way. But then again, I am just making a statement based on what she has said and the devil's in the details. I am just an outsider looking in🤷🏾♂️

Why get married unless you know he or she is your ideal person!! People nowadays marry for the wrong reasons and they don't take their vowels seriously. Might as well just go to court and sign them papers without the wedding ceremony because they are not gonna commit to the vows just to the legal papers. Which can be broken 💔 (divorced so easily right?!)

The only problem with these interviews of celebs divorcing is that we ever only hear one bell but not the other side. The truth always seems to have more than one perspective.

Hope that Kelly could interview Adele someday on the kellyshow.
She's truly an amazing woman. Maybe when the time is right she will find someone better for herself and hopefully it lasts a lifetime.

I’m really sorry her marriage didn’t work out/her relationship. She seems to be a really down to earth person. I’ve never been like a CRAZY fan of hers.. I liked her songs but I don’t know. I didn’t realize her texts would help me understand my feelings better one day. I feel like I can really relate to what she sings and sang in the past. I knew her songs were deep but I today can literally FEEL what she is trying to say with her words
