I just don’t see a resemblance to be honest, like the face shape is completely different. And Jennifer’s lips and nose are almost like Selena’s. Jennifer did an AMAZING job playing as Selena, but I just don’t see how they look alike... I’m not trying to throw shade or hate, I’m just giving my opinion👍🏼🙂
@CassieJ46 жыл бұрын
@@jaydat7450 In real life, Jennifer doesn't look much like her. But for the movie, her makeup artist did her eye makeup to make them look like Selena's and also lined her lips to make them look more like Selena's. Jennifer even practiced Selena's smile by watching videos of her and I think (in my opinion) that she got her smile down pat. Of course, they aren't twins or anything, but I think Jen is the perfect actress for it.

Same. I wish that Aaliyah’s family would write a movie or a miniseries about her life too. A lot of people criticize Abraham and the rest of the family for making the movie and the series but I get it because like they said, _they_ get to control how she is portrayed and remembered because they’re her family and who better to produce a movie/show about your life than family? They put their heart in it whereas if some production company was to just decide to make a movie about Selena without any input from the family, they wouldn’t be portraying her as she was. They’d be creating a character based on the media personality. Lifetime made movies about Aaliyah and Britney Spears without permission or input from Aaliyah’s family or Britney herself and the result was two trash movies that portrayed them like caricatures of themselves. People call the Quintanillas greedy for continuing to release Selena stuff but they’re keeping her memory and legacy alive, and she deserves it.

*WHO WOULD LIKE TO SEE SELENA ALIVE AGAIN?* *_As avid fans know, in the year before her death, Selena was studying with Jehovah's Witnesses & was planning to leave the music business. That was one reason she wanted her boutique & clothes line to become successful so she could maintain a strong source of income without performing anymore. Her desire was to be baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She believed that the wicked would be removed from the earth at Armageddon & after that, during the thousand year reign of Jesus Christ there would be a resurrection of faithful believers right here on a paradise earth where she could live forever in peace with her friends & family. If you REALLY want to be a close friend of Selena's, then study the bible with Jehovah's Witnesses now._* 8:11 JW.org

@@John14-6- yes. Both Selena & her family believe in a resurrection when all our loved who have died will be brought back to physical human life here on planet earth. She was very close childhood friends with my wife & 3 weeks before her death she ran in to my wife for the first time since she had become famous & invited my wife over to her house for lunch. During my wife's visit Selena explained that she had started studying the bible with Jehovah's witnesses & wanted to become a baptized JW like her parents & had been focusing more on getting her boutique & merchandise going well enough so that after a few years perhaps she didn't have to be on the road so much anymore & she could have children with Chris & eventually participate in the ministry door to door. My wife loved Selena & Selena's family very much. When Selena & my wife were little girls, Selena & her sister & Selena's mother use to clean my wife's mother's house for money & when Selena first started performing, my wife & my wife's older sister were some of the only people in the audience to be clapping & cheering for Selena & the group. They were all very cute. My wife & I look forward to embracing & speaking with Selena again soon. PLEASE, consider learning what the bible promises about the resurrection by asking Jehovah's witnesses to help you get to know Jehovah God & your bible. Or go to JW.org Take care.

Her Dad was a control freak. He never let Selena live her life, he was always smothering her. He never approved of her relationship and marriage with Chris, always did what he could to keep them apart but he didn't go after Yolanda with the same vendetta once he found out she was stealing money. I'm sorry but her father is partly responsible for her death. He should've intervened with that like he did with her marriage. On top of that, he chose to make a movie right after she died. What loving parent does that? He claimed it was to clear up false rumors about her, none of which I've ever heard. It was a lucrative opportunity he couldn't pass up. Selena was an angel, I wish she was still alive but her family was a pain in the ass. Her mom and Chris were the only ones who really supported her choices. Period.

@@B..P.. Yeah afterwards Abraham realized Yolanda had an obsession with Selena. He started getting concerned when he had to make appointments through Yolanda to see his own daughter. Then he discovered the missing money. Abraham was the one who introduced Yolanda to Selena because Yolanda sought out to create a fan club for Selena and her father liked the idea so he green lighted it and Selena of course approved. Selena shouldn't have had to deal with Yolanda by herself. It's sad because I think Selena was going to die or at least get shot at some point. It may not have happened on March 31st, 1995, but it would've happened eventually unless Yolanda was somehow taken out of the equation permanently because up until she shot Selena, no one actually thought she would actually do that, including Selena. Once the target was on Selena's back, it was only a matter of time. Also it was how Selena treated Yolanda that made her snap and lose her temper. She wanted to cut all ties and her employment so of course Yolanda couldn't settle for that being the sociopath psycho that she is.

This is part of the Jehovah witness beliefs, they believe the dead will be resurrected after Armageddon it sounds great until you know what they really teach. Which is during Armageddon everyone will be killed by their god Jehovah unless they are baptized active practicing members of the organization. They believe everyone else from all other religions , even Christian religions , will be killed. And the resurrected ones will have to convert to becoming Jehovahs witnesses , if they refuse to convert they will be killed . This is all over their literature , website and videos.
@dianasanchez43394 жыл бұрын
Erika Letty not exactly in the Bible it mentions in : “Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will seek to get in but will not be able.”-Luke 13:23, 24. which means we must work hard to show that we have faith in Jehovah or god whatever you prefer, and even if you are a Jehovah Witness you don’t have eternal life Guaranteed 1 Corinthians 5:11- 13 States “...Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.” As mentioned there would be “Wicked” people, nobody is perfect and even Jehovah Witness make mistakes and not everyone has faith.1Samuel 16:7 states that Jehovah can read hearts and he is a merciful god only he truly knows what his plans are and we must not judge what he sees, but better we should try to se others through his eyes. Have a nice day😀
@erikaletty4 жыл бұрын
Diana sanchez I don’t disagree with those scriptures. You said in reply to my comment “not exactly” may I ask what I said that was incorrect? There was a talk given called “Reach out for the real life” they mentioned in this talk in order to be saved you must be a baptized member of Jehovah’s organization. Tony Morris , a governing body member, stated in a broadcast episode that the Jehovahs Witnesses were the only group that would be protected during Armageddon. If he is a direct channel to God why would he state something untrue? Romans 10:9 “ That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved”. Ephesians 2:8,9 : “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of god , not of works, lest anyone should boast. Does your religion not teach that you must gain salvation through works (preaching) and that you must be active in this to be in good standing with god ? Tony Morris gave a talk and said if you have not been in service for a few weeks you have blood on your hands and your going to “loose your life”. Is this not salvation by works ? Jesus said in John 14:6 “ I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but by me” Acts 16:31” believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved “ John 8:12” Then spoke Jesus again to them , saying I am the light of the world he that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life . 1 John 1:5- then this is the message we have heard of him and declare to you that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. As you can see it’s is in Christ that we must put out faith. Jesus did not say you must be part of one organization to be saved. He said all you had to do was believe in him and follow him. The path to life is narrow because few follow in the path of Jesus. It is true no one if perfect we all fall short even witnesses. my issue with their beliefs is that they teach you must become one of them and serve their organization to gain salvation and the Bible clearly states otherwise . 😊 You are correct in saying that as a Jehovah’s Witness you are not guaranteed eternal life, but as a Christian you are and it’s very simple to attain.
@dianasanchez43394 жыл бұрын
Erika letty in your first comment you said that “...everyone will be killed by their god Jehovah unless they are baptized active practicing members...” that is incorrect everyone has the privilege to be Jehovah‘s friend. As humans we were ALL given free will to make her own choices you don’t have to be a Jehovah’s Witnesses; all you have to do is choose to serve him and want to know him wholeheartedly. Jehovah is a merciful God who reads hearts as I’ve mentioned, he will be the one to judge according to everyone’s different circumstances. Jehova won’t take anyone’s life without taking into account their efforts. No matter what religion you are you have an opportunity towards eternal life. Brother Anthony Morris would not say anything untrue like you’ve said so take into account his audience. The broadcast is a space for practicing Jehovah’s Witnesses who know and have enough knowledge not to distort the information. Most of his talks are directed towards Bethalites and members Gilead this talk was given during morning worship at Bethel. This talk was to reassure Gilead and bethalites that Jehovah would protect them during the great tribulation and Armageddon and to further encourage them to preach the truth while there is still time, brother Morris was just speaking to his audience this specific group of people he wasn’t talking about any other religions.THIS this is what is all over our literature website and videos because like you said it’s in the Bible we preach in order to show people these bible truths because we have the profound desire to have them love god with all their hearts to change their views of him as the god who causes all their suffering and to give them hope that someday in the near future we will all have better lives and true peace thru him in a terrenal paradise.if you would like a Bible study for free without having to convert please go to JW.org and request one in order to comprehend to depth😊

Diana sanchez Thank you for responding. I noticed you did not counter any of my scriptures . What do you think about these scriptures ? I went back to listen to that talk “ Reach out for the real life” to make sure I heard correctly. The speaker says “in order to attain the real life you must be a baptized Christian servant of Jehovah”. Again this sounds like you must become a JW in order to attain salvation. This was a special talk that the public is invited too . You mentioned Tony Morris talks are directed at Gilead/Bethel members only but what about this special talk where “outsiders” are often invited. If I’m a Baptist and come to hear this talk the only way I could take this is I have to convert to this religion to be saved. You said “ you don’t have to be a JW; all you have to do is choose to serve him and want to know him” isn’t that becoming a JW? If your serving Jehovah then would that not mean you are a Jehovah’s Witness? You mentioned that the Broadcast is for practicing members only you will not distort information. I don’t think I’m distorting only stating verbatim what these speakers are saying. I went back to hear Tony Morris on the Broadcast, when talking about Armageddon he says “we will be the only group protected by him” if he’s only speaking to Gilead/Bethel people then does that mean the rank and file have different direction ? It sounded like he was speaking to the organization as a whole. He mentioned this is the time to “prove our love” to god . This goes back to something I mentioned in my last comment that you also did not respond to which is salvation by works. Ephesians 2:8,9 - Jesus said by grace you have been saved not by works. I agree Tony Morris was not talking about other religions he mentioned false religion which I know you believe is every other religion other than Jehovah witness, but he was saying only JWs will be protected . Meaning everyone else will not. If he believes God was going to protect others why would he not state that ? Why are there talks only for certain members? This seems like they are hiding things , if JWs believe they are teaching directly from the Bible and that their understanding is directly coming from God then whatever they teach should be openly shown to whomever wishes to hear their message. This is another issue I have. They seem to lack transparency when it comes to discussing their beliefs. Thank you again for responding . I enjoy the convo.

It's amazing that she achieved so much in such a young life and is still having an impact more than 20 years after her passing. That fact alone demonstrates how extraordinarily talented she was. We can only imagine how much more she would have achieved in the decades to follow and how many more great songs and albums she would have gifted us with. Her death was and remains a huge loss to many. I became aware of her music in 1995 and to this day there's a sadness (as much as a stranger can feel) for the fact we, as a society, lost such a talented and iconic person well before she was ready to depart this earth.

It makes you realize that life is way too short and you have to be careful of the people that you have in your circle. As much as you want to trust someone, you have to make sure that you're looking out for yourself and that you're protecting yourself. And this goes for anyone who achieves and reaches success in life. Don't let your guard down and always stay on top of your business because all it takes is one selfish individual to take away everything you worked for. It is such a tragedy how she passed away at such a young age and the one thing that I can take from this personally, is to always have someone with me when dealing with a psychotic person and to make sure that someone gets all of the documents for me, along with handling termination. Selena trusted the wrong person and because of it, her life was taken at the peek of her career. May she forever rest in paradise and her music/legacy continues to live on.

She seemed to love every kind of person. my children's father is Puerto Rican but that's not why I love her she smiled all the time after watching videos I get mad, cry angrily! She SHOULD STILL BE HERE! satan knew that she could bring every kind of person together. I hate that I can't meet her but. hopefully if I stay on the right track, I can meet her when she's Resurrected. 😇😘☺ she is so giving, such a lady, happy... I love to hear her laugh 🤗. I know her family mad that easy for her to do.

That's what I meant. Excuse me if offended you. That why I hate it when companies rename styles because our white brothers & sisters are singing the style. Example: abstract art is called, ABSTRACT ART. The dance style, "Break-dancing" name has changed since it was made into a "national" dance competition! Each state/country is named, and/or recognized (1st pl, 2nd pl etc...) for there talent, each artists name is on the painting, but the Latinos of Brooklyn aren't recognized for creating that artistic dance style. just as a state/country is recognized in any sport, why can't the Latinos? I typed [WE] are ONLY ONE race; we're the HUMAN race. What's races about that? Choosing another name for the same art separates Humans. I want that to stop. Do you get that?
