Most amazing thing about this show -- in a raft of amazing things -- are the performances of the actress playing Alexis in which the majority of the time she is a major airhead, ditz and manages to pull it off repeatedly without losing the character and without making her intolerable. You feel for her, you root for her. Same with Dan Levy -- the man writes the show so you know he's incredibly intelligent and well-spoken yet he plays a guy who is emotionally and often verbally constipated from the beat down he's received from his overbearing mother and dealing with being a gay man and having had many relationships pile up into car wrecks. You like him, you want to see him find the love he so desperately needs/wants. Again he plays a character who is difficult to maintain with the grimaces, eye rolls, intensity of squashed feeling. Two outstanding performances in a show that has a boatload of outstanding actors and performances. Love to see a spinoff off of the David-Patrick characters and another in which we see Ted and Alexis in a few years. Plus -- love Stevie and want to know what happens to her. She's smart, she's attractive, she's observant, she needs to leave Schitt's Creek and find her life.

I don't think i could ever watch the Alexis/Ted breakup scene again. Bc you know that it wasn't bc they didn't love each other, it wasn't bc they didn't do enough to get together, be together or stay together, but simply bc circumstances forced them to choose between their relationship or their personal career growth. As nice as it is to know that they chose themselves & are definitely better for it, it still hurts that all that hard work for them to get them that far as a couple still wasn't enough to keep them together til the end.
