I like the point Leo makes at the end about it just being normal for some people if they lived in that environment. I absolutely understand what he means. I like how how the story about wanting to get into the show for free because she is in the movie was incorporated from one of Quentins actual experiences too. Leo, Margot & Brad actually don’t seem like the typical Hollywood pricks out there. They just seem like they genuinely care about film and their performances. I don’t recall ever seeing them get angry or acting stuck up for no reason. They just seem sort of normal to me. @raymondjackson60693 жыл бұрын
I have never really been that big a fan of Tarantino, but this knocks it out the park. Can hardly get enough of this movie! Leonardo shows himself to be truly, a transformative artist, and for me the very best scene was when "Mirabella" tells him, "That was the best acting I've ever seen". And his character soars! I always knew he was a great artist, but this movie was definitely a quantum leap for this guy. "You want me to be, a .... hippie?!" And toward the end of the movie, the way Tarantino tied it all together with Jose Feliciano's "California Dreaming" was pure genius. It took me back to that time, and when that album came out, that song, and "Light My Fire", it seemed to elevate the whole of humanity to another level. That's despite the turmoil of those times, we were entering another age, and even being able to pronounce "Feliciano", added a cliche to your cool. And the "shop talk", inside drifts and tidbits added a real intimacy to all the performances. "That was a smooth leap...", "That guys a jerk..." I was never into Sharon Tate, I mean it was one of those terrible things that happen, but I kind of love and am disturbed the way Quinton brought her to life. It was sweet, they way she was bopping throughout the L.A of the period, but very sad when the killers were making it up the private drive. In the movie, they get diverted to Rick Dalton's house and get killed. In reality, like the ghouls portrayed in the movie, they make it up that path to Sharon's house to slaughter a beautiful, pregnant woman, Sharon Tate, and her friends, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Steven Parent, Jay Sebring... apparently for no reason. At the end, it's kind of mystifying, even the music become almost ethereal, the closing scenes wafted into this other reality, where Jay seemed to come down the path, not from the Polanski house, but from the afterlife to find out what had happened, or what was happening, and again from the afterlife, through the intercom, Sharon seem to ask; "Hey, are you guys alright?"

Most mind blowing part of the film is when fifty five year old Brad takes off his shirt on the roof of Leonardo's house.

First thing interviewer says is how he moved to L.A. & has had some ups & downs. Woulda been funny if instead of talking about the movie he started telling them his problems.
