My dad is 71 and he was a guitarist back in the day (Rock) He LOVES this girl. He can't really play anymore because of arthritis but I do catch him sometimes, jamming along with Courtney 🥰She is a very special young lady, very talented.

Love this story because she gives him something to keep doing what he loves. I know there's a lot more people out there who are doing the same with similar issues. I'm definitely another for the same reasons. Enjoyment of what you love to do always makes the pain a lot less and fun.

I am 66 and I haven't been able to play my guitars for going on 3yrs as my knuckles are locking one by one. I feel for your dad buy I know he still plays in his dreams. I am thankful that I taught my son and daughter to play. I feel for you too. I know that your dad doesn't want you to be feel hurt for him. It was always going to happen. The very best thing you can do is be musical yourself - express yourself and be happy to show him how instrumental he has been in helping fashion you. 🥰

This, by far, is the best introduction to her amazing talent. This is how myself, and MANY fans of hers became fans. She is a phenomenon, none of us can work out exactly how she can do what she does, but it is incredible. A rising star, she WILL dominate the charts shortly, it is a virtual guarantee.

I've seen this audition 100 +/- times, and I still get teary, so I can certainly relate. Courtney has been performing in some public setting since at least age 9, but this AGT audition did jumpstart her wide recognition. Since then she has had a series of setbacks, including the pandemic, business and other personal issues, but she has remarkable resilience and career drive that is finally paying off. As of 2023 she is doing everything as an independent artist, after disillusionment with several music labels. She has released 4 originals (you reacted to one: Call Me Back), and is releasing Christmas Rocks original on November 24! She turned 19 on July 6 and has plans to come to America soon where Kevin Bowe, her producer and co-writer has his studio. Hopefully, sometime in 2024 she will complete her album and start performing on stage where she has no peer! You would do well to react to her songs on Courtney Hadwin KZbin channel and other AGT performances.

Hi Guys. Terrific reaction. Courtney is truly amazing. You've only seen two songs of hers, but just from those two songs, you can tell a number of things. First, and most obvious, her vocals are phenomenal. The kind of vocal power, control and versatility she has is unmatched. You've seen her sing one gorgeous, gut wrenching ballad (Call Me Back) and then this blow the roof off rock performance. So next, you can now get some idea of the incredible range that she has. Whether it's Rock, R&B, Funk, Soul, Ballads or more, she can sing it all, and the most incredible thing is that there is never a drop off in the fabulous quality of her music. Third is the passion and intensity with which she sings. No one sings with more heart and soul than Courtney does. Add to that, that she is a powerhouse as a songwriter, and also plays a mean guitar, and you'll understand why so many of us consider Courtney a generational level talent. This performance catapulted Courtney to world wide fame. It's hard to describe what happened after this performance. Courtney was everywhere. It now has over a billion views. Courtney herself has over three billion views. You were spot on in one of your comments. Although this is where most people first got to know Courtney, she had been singing for a number of years before, at countless local music competitions, open mics, festivals, etc. Anywhere where she could hone her craft. The stories of how dedicated and focused Courtney has, and is, on her music, are well known. Even at a young age, she was one of the hardest working artists around, and that hasn't changed, but, even though she's is no longer as quiet as she is here, she still remains the same soft spoken, genuine person you see here. In answer to your question, Courtney is 19 now. While Courtney was on AGT, she sang exclusively classic rock from the 60's and 70's, by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. These are her true musical inspirations. It is well worth reacting to the remainder of Courtney's AGT performances. She blew the roof off the arena with each song and had the audience and the judges in the palm of her hand. Her next performance after the audition is James Brown's 'Papa's Got a Brand New Bag'. There are several videos on KZbin of that performance. It's now that Courtney has gone independent that she has truly come into her own, after overcoming so many obstacles, such as Covid (which delayed her debit album by over two years), her label being sold, which led to so much chaos and more. Her first three independent releases were all non-rock and all were sensational. First, there was the gritty ballad 'Breakable', then there was her uptempo jazzy number , 'That Girl Don't Live Here', and then the intense 'Call Me Back' (which you've already reacted to) that will break your heart every time you listen to it. However, it was only a matter of time before Courtney was going to return to her rock roots and release a song that unleashes her incredible vocal power, and her fourth release, 'Monsters' was it. An absolutely incredible rock anthem. All are available on Courtney's KZbin channel. Can't wait to hear you react to more of Courtney's music. Your reactions are great and your Courtney journey is just beginning. Courtney's talent is like a diamond, with many facets, each one shining as brightly as all the others. You've only scratched the surface so far.

She is 19 now. She was 13 in this performance. In 2017 at age 12, she was in Voice Kid Uk. There she did Ike and Tina Turner's "Night Bush City Limits" Yeah she knocked it out of the park too. Go down her rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed. Whether it's an original song or a cover song, she puts just as much emotion into other people's songs as she does into her own. She is really down to earth girl and constantly keeps in touch with her fans over social media many times Live. Where she talks about future planning and life in general sometimes sings a song or two. She has also had many haters and much adversity. With bullying on their social media from a young age by adults. And with record companies that wanted to change her style and make her into something she absolutely did not want. So after many years with a lot of adversity, she is now a free and independent artist. Now she makes the music she wants. The first two songs she released say a lot about what she's been through. "Breakable" and "That Girl Don't Live Here"

There may be a Courtney Hadwin video that would leave you LESS prepared for her AGT audition than Call Me Back, but I can't think of one😃 They're on opposite ends of her broad range. Imagine if you will though, the millions of us who saw this with no preparation at all, not even having heard her as you did. The two OMGs and a Bloody Hell Courtney from the judges spoke for all of us. So did the golden buzzer. The lovely lady who spoke to her is known as Mel B, aka Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice of the Spice Girls. The model sitting next to her is Heidi Klum. This audition was in 2018. Courtney's 19 now. If you'd like to go even farther down the hard rock side of her range, you couldn't do better than her latest release, Monsters: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGK7qqqVqqmLeqs If you'd like to walk it back to a soft (for her) slow sad song, her first official original release, Breakable, released early this year, would be great: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoDNqoZrrJaCpNE If you'd like to hear something in between, the first original song she sang on TV, Pretty Little Thing, or the original she released between Breakable and Call Me Back, That Girl Don't Live Here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKqsfYNqebWDitE - both rock a little smooth with a jazzy flavor. Love your reactions, would love to see more!

Simon Cowel said in an interview that she had to be kept putting back and back cos she kept being sick cos she was that nervous, but eventually she had to come on cos she was the last one to be seen that’s why at the end you see all the judges leave cos it was the end. You no the saying save the best for last 😊😊😊 I hope you react to all her other AGT performances cos they are all amazing and it shows how much she has come on since appearing on it 😊😊😊

This sweet child of time just about saved me and millions of others in the dark times of Covid she was the gift that kept on giving and kept me longing to see her succeed. How absolutely stunning to watch the clips of her at an insanely young (even than here) age of 12, 11, 10 !!! "Nutbush City Limits" tina turner ""Rolling in the Deep" adele "Can't Help Falling in Love With You" elvis "I have nothing" whitney "Say Something" christine aguilera "Who's Loving You" michael jackson "What's Love Got to do With It?" tina turner and way more shorts before even all of her AGT performances. It was these above that kept us from tearing our aging hair out with frustration for the poor girl who had to put everything on hold through the hiatus. Thankfully she is a young adult now and taking charge and giving us what we've craved since Howie's glittering prize. From these above performances you will see that Courtney ALWAYS was the star who she is now becoming. Tears will always flow long after you think you are dried out and cinical when Courtney "the girl who came to sing" keeps knocking our socks off quicker than we can buy a new pair. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Phenomenal at any age 😊

Thank you! I LOVE y'alls reactions! Though I'm a little upset that EVERYONE who posts this vid fails to name the song and songwriter. This is Otis Redding's posthumous 1968 hit song, "Hard to Handle", as adapted by Ms. Courtney to shift to female protagonist viewpoint in lyrics, using SOME of the changes introduced by the Black Crowes band when they covered it and included it in their shows decades later. But this is definitely HER version, her cover, of that song. I believe she STUDIED him and his band, amongst others mentioned below. They all died when his aircraft went down on their way to their next gig in December 1967. A great loss for both the music community of the time and the black Americans community who had yet ANOTHER very successful band teaching people how to fuse old musical trends into something fresh and fun. They'd already recorded the song, thankfully, but it was still in production waiting to be released. His label and estate released it in 68. Janice Joplin came up because Howie is a big fan of her, and just like Ms. Courtney she surprised everyone at the folk fest, and because their styles of singing and performing onstage are similar. As they should be, since Janis Joplin was ALSO one of the MANY OLD SCHOOL greats from the 1950's, 60's, 70's, and 80's whom this young lady STUDIED here on KZbin. The wonders of growing up GenZ! Like Angelina Jordan, focused more on GRANDPARENTS' era music. Following Ms. Courtney's progression from school/local contests, to regional, to national competitions documented here on KZbin, you can SEE as she masters her craft, mostly teaching herself how do I do THIS thing that Tina Turner did? How do I do that, what James Brown just did in that performance? Then, when she had busked for gas money and the price of private vocal lessons, her confidence AND COMPETENCE just seemed to skyrocket, IMHO. By 2017 when she was on The Voice Kids UK, season 1, at age 12 for her blind audition, she was rockin' that Tina Turner song, "Nutbush City Limits", yet doing it HER WAY, not just imitating her 'virtual mentor', the woman whom she primarily molded herself to EMULATE, not to IMITATE. See her posts and comments from earlier this year when Ms. Tina's death became known. I'd VERY STRONGLY recommend four, no three (y'all already did the fourth), more performances to react to by Ms. Courtney. In my recommended order: Her SECOND time on AGT stage, at LIVE TV quarter-finals, singing James Brown's 1965 hit "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag." She was studying his dance moves, but reportedly decided that was just too hard to remember and just chose to let the music move her, INSPIRED by his performance AND BY THE ACTUAL OLD DANCES named in his lyrics! There's pieces of those 1940's and 1950's dances in there, but those moves are HERS, driven by the MUSIC. Watch Simon as she finishes the song!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXqwaYKhbclknLs Blind audition for TVK-UK, age 12. Listen till will.i.am gets his say in afterwards backstage, and Danny Jones, now her Coach, gives his prediction: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4bKnJhjit6XjtE 3rd performance, after Battles, first LIVE TV episode of show iirc. Coach Danny is giving last minute instructions before she heads to wardrobe and then stage. Boy, did that little girl take THOSE instructions to heart!! His attempts to ease her stress kinda backfired, though: kzbin.info/www/bejne/paWXdoRvmN9ritU SORRY, forgot I'd just watched your reaction to this, what, a week or so ago. Gettin' old. Anyway, read on for background some may not yet know. Finally, the BEST and LAST time we got to see her onstage with a big audience in a big venue. This was on 14 Jan 2019, age 14. She was signed by both Simon's SYCO Music label and Arista label. Not sure why/how, but that's how he structured it. She was placed on the playbill for, get this, the Woodstock 50 special anniversary weekend festival, the youngest performer, reminding all the survivors from back when those roots of rock and modern music were first growing deep and bearing fruit just what it was AND IS all about. A handing off of the torch, so to speak, live for all to see. And then it got canceled. Just imagine what the first year as pandemic unfolded would have been like, how different, with the world eminently aware of this young ROCKSTAR superstar both through her performance there, and through her debut album. Instead, all we have is THIS performance, with Ms. Courtney SHOW-READY, and proving it, with an ORIGINAL song. I've replayed this in so many forms on so many channels. Original was, of course, taken down long ago by AGT/AGT: The Champions. Buckle up! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn_NqmqFbraLpZo

Courtney performed at Carnagie Hall, on April 29th 2024. She was invited by clive Davis, who had received phone calls from Simon Cowel and Howie Mandel, telling him of her A.G.T, appearance. Apparnetly, he was so impressed he invited her to open the show. She sang Janis Joplin's "Another Peace Of My Heart", and got a standing ovation. I don't know if there is a professional video of the show but I did watch a video of her performance but the quality wasn't great but you could still feel the power of her voice, which btw, is just so beautiful. Her range and vocal control are, in my opinion, just out of this universe. I can't think of another singer or performer that is anywhere near to Courtny's stage presence and powerful appearences. If you can find the video of her singing at Carnagie Hall, please react to it, it is worth it. Just remember the sound quality isn't the best. Also, check out all of her tiktok clips and you'll again see her unmatched vocal range. From Chris.

Not anymore. She's gone independent. But they did stunt her growth tremendously along with Covid and Simon (who originally signed her) decided to sell all his artists over to Sony Music, who basically dropped any of them who weren't already stars. Courtney needed to be free of her contract obligations to finally start releasing her own music with producer/song writer Kevin Bowe, who's a star in his own right, writing, co-writing, and producing for so many of the great artists we've heard over the years and also today. Not sure how much you've kept up with her. Only saying this because her ex label/s are no longer involved with her and she's already done more since January than any of her so called music people did in the past 4 years for her. If you already knew then just ignore this. Although, if her ex record label allowed her to be herself instead of trying to mold her she would have been a house hold name by now even with Covid

Hmm? How? Why? She's INDIE now, on her own, doing her music her way as she's said. Admittedly they probably left the family in QUITE the fiscal hole. At least if normal industry practices played out as usual. No idea just HOW MUCH she still owes them on that loan (labels call it an 'advance', but it's enough to make a loan shark envious). MAYBE it all worked out, based on all the non-performance clauses that must have been in it if she had any kind of lawyer on her side at signing. Or maybe just the pandemic and whatever agreements were reached based on the whole situation. Don't know. Probably because all/most such contracts in this insane industry also have strict non-disclosure clauses for anything that might tarnish the label's image. THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY to enable all to make music their way. Her fundraiser over on GoFundMe just topped her goal, so she'll be able to travel to Minneapolis to collaborate again in studio with Kevin Bowe (co-writer, producer, musician) and his band or whomever they bring in to help FINALLY finish her debut album that the old label(s) apparently kept promising her she could finish and would come out "Soon." For years. From age 14 to 18 iirc. At least I assume she was still under contract until that fourth anniversary (Dec 2022) of signing (Dec 2018). Around the new year, iirc, she told fans that she was free and would now be releasing original songs. She just released 'Monsters' back on 29 Sept 2023, her 4th for this year, and just let fans know she'll have a Christmas song by, iirc, end of November. Then, hopefully ASAP in 1Q2024 we should get that debut album of originals. She's got a backlog, AND she can and will make many more songs! Thank God! Love that VOICE!

@@givingin2G4Courtz Ok good time to ask questions and have a little back n forth about some things just for fun. When Courtney was on Howie's podcast at the end of 2020, Courtney said she had a new team but couldn't say anything just yet. This was the same year Simon And Sony cut that deal that left many of Simon's signed artists in limbo as far as I could find out except for the big stars. One guy from One Direction (forget name at the moment) was allowed to be released from his contract. Also read in another article that a few others were giving the option to be released. Anyway, I kind of took Courtney announcing she had a new team 4 months after Simon/Sony deal as her moving on from her constraints with her original contract. Unless when she says she has a new team means new people within her original contract. What do you feel?

@@bertpainter8385 aha, see I interpreted that differently, just blithely assuming she'd been primarily with the SYCO Music A&R folks, but when Simon upset the apple cart, I presumed the Arista team took over, since her contract was a tad unusual with her being co-signed by BOTH SYCO Music and Arista. So when months later the talent managed by SYCO realized they'd been ghosted and then heard on news later that SYCO Music INSIDE Sony was shut down, I assumed she was still fine, proceeding on under THEIR contract with her. So I never even considered that she'd been dropped by both. She was still on BOTH label's lists of artists early this year, and I KNEW SYCO Music was shut down, so wasn't sure if that meant Sony had inherited and retained her contract, or if she was 'now' just with Arista. And figured that a first contract would probably be for four years. I think I remember one of the instructors for one of the music biz classes/lectures I took a gander at here on KZbin mentioned that was pretty common to be able to just let the time run out on the contract. Of course the artist is still left with that massive and rapidly growing debt as monstrous interest rates accrue. I've listened to fans of other artists going on about what their fav went through, the ramen and 5 roomates in a studio apt, busking for breakfast, etc. Good damn questions. I suspect we won't know until Simon or someone on the inside has an autobiography ghost-written. Or maybe never, with one artist and two 'labels' I'm sure there were PLENTY of draconian clauses keeping everybody's trap shut about anything bad or image-tarnishing that might affect company stock prices. Of course little such protection for the artist, unless they have EXCEPTIONAL legal eagle on their team and some sort of LEVERAGE. IDK.

@@bertpainter8385 PLUS, I'm coming at this later than you, after the fact, so my perceptions are skewed by that. I started studying kids becoming vocalists as an interesting population and talent/skill combination to study as a scientist and engineer interested in how skill acquisition works in youngsters, putting to work my Developmental Psychology study and bit of taking stock of current schooling practices from some diverse sources both inside and outside the K-12 education field. I found TVK, then found TVK-UK where I didn't have to rely on Google to translate the German (which I SHOULD know, but don't) into the English that sadly remains my only effective human-spoken language (I know way more computer languages than I do spoken human languages, which I now see is stupid, I should study ALL of them, both for people and machines). THEN I found Season 1 of TVK-UK. Jumped to the winner, and followed Jess down the TVK-UK & X Factor: The Band rabbit hole. Then came back and started following the other finalists journeys and histories. THEN I heard Courtney sing. FULL STOP. To hell with the research, WHO IS THIS GODDESS with THE VOICE?!?! Sent me straight back into 1960's music in my '68 Mustang hardtop, tooling along the winding roads through mountains and fields, watching hawks soar as my fav artists songs transported me. In SECONDS, sitting at my computer, she transported me back. No idea how. Does it every time. AMAZING. Something in her voice is just unmistakeably 1960's no matter what she's singing or when.
