Hi! So cool that you've come upon Courtney's music. Courtney is absolutely amazing. The best thing to happen to the music world in decades, if not forever. You've only heard the one song, but she is equally great in everything from Rock to R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads and there never is any loss to the incredible quality of her music. She even had an opera clip go viral on TikTok. She has incredible vocal power, control and range. You can't fully tell from this audition, but she is a true stage beast, in the best sense of the word, and dominates a stage like no other when she's rocking out. She's a dynamite guitarist, plays piano and is a true powerhouse as a song writer. As you hear more of Courtney, you'll realize what a truly generational level talent she is. Courtney had been singing for a number of years prior, but she burst to worldwide fame when she took America's Got Talent (AGT) by storm with this performance in 2018. This audition video went viral and currently has over 1 Billion views. Courtney herself has nearly 3 Billion on line views. She has a devoted following of millions from virtually everywhere on the globe. On AGT, Courtney focused on singing classic rock from the 60's and 70's by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. She literally blew the roof off of the arena with every performance. After AGT, so many who were first introduced to her there, viewed her as strictly this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she most certainly is. However, she is so, so much more. Few realized how versatile she really was. So she then released a four song EP, where she took massive recent hits across multiple genres, totally re-invented them and created something amazing out of each of them. As an example, one of the songs on the EP was 'Lil Nas' huge record setting hit 'Old Town Road', which Courtney turned from it's original Country/Hip Hop version into a magnificent rock anthem. The purpose was to highlight both her incredible vocal range, but also her unmatched creativity. For all four of the songs on the EP, I've never come across anyone who has heard both the originals and Courtney's version, that didn't feel that Courtney blew the originals totally out of the water. Courtney is 19 now. There have been many hurdles for her to get her original music out. First were issues with her label, where they tried to twist her into something she didn't want to be. Another pop princess. Can you imagine that magnificent voice you just heard being limited to pop. Courtney stood her ground. Then Covid hit and shut everything down for over two years. Courtney is British and travel was completely shut down from the UK to the US (where here team was) during that time. Then her label was sold, leading to whole new levels of chaos. As soon as she could, at the beginning of this year, she walked away from her label and went independent. Since that has happened, she has already dropped four incredible originals. 'Breakable', a gorgeous, gritty ballad, 'That Girl Don't Live Here', a jazzy uptempo song with a touch of 1940's swing, 'Call Me Back', which will rip your heart out every time you hear it and 'Monsters', an incredible rock masterpiece and the best rock we've heard in decades. Courtney has a huge song library that she has developed over the last several years, which she hasn't been able to release, but she has shared many, in whole or part, with he fans, and they are sensational. She is such a powerhouse as a songwriter. Now that she is in control of her music, it is said to expect a new release approximately every month or two, with an album to drop in the first half of next year. If you want to react to Courtney's classic rock side, react to her versions of 'Papa's Got a Brand New Bag', River Deep, Mountain High, Born to be Wild, or Piece of my Heart (with the Struts on the AGT finals). All are available on KZbin. If you would like to next react to her four new originals or the songs from her EP (Sign of the Times, Old Town Road, Sucker and Someone You Loved), they are on her YT channel. Loved your reaction. Can't wait to hear you do more Courtney. If you're doing more Courtney, you've got me as a subscriber.

😍 Thank you for the information too, I knew she had a contract but it was quiet for a long time - partly probably because of the made up plandemic (interestingly no one has been convicted of that yet! 🤬) ! Then I discovered the Mexican sisters and they are also like a revelation in today's shitty music! So, as I investigate some time, I'm going to go looking for new Courtney songs! 😍

Courtney in 2018 was already more than a promise for rock and the entire musical universe that she had already explored. In 2023, she is a rock phenomenon and beyond rock. Tomorrow... tomorrow... it's going to be a hurricane, a rock monster. She already is when I see the countless reactions to her performances. At 10 years old... she was already singing. And it was already incredible ! So.... there is work to be done to comment on what she has done for 10 years. And she goes fast ! The rhythm of her compositions goes at the speed of the wind.... of inspiration. Thank you for your video 🙏 Courtney works alone and she really needs all the support 🤗

The universal response to Courtney's audition: "I wasn't expecting that!". I am sure you will get more details from other commenters, but I will just say Courtney is 19 now with 4 original songs out this year and a Christmas banger coming out November 24, so, yes, Courtney is still doing music, is absolutely unique and should be on her way to superstardom if the heavens align as they should!

Welcome To The Wonderful World Of Courtney Hadwin!!! When I hear somebody hasn't seen this yet, I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve. I've always said, reaction videos were MADE FOR this performance. In fact, "What!?! . . . WHAT!?!?!!!" is not an unusual reaction, but I never get tired of it. Your reaction was awesome! Liked and Subscribed. My two cents about what to watch next is, while it would be wonderful to watch the rest of her AGT performances, and the finals is still my favorite, and about a hundred other great videos from a few years before this one and a few years after, most of those will be there. Her latest release, Monsters, is by acclamation, her best original song yet, made Billboards Hard Rock Digital Sales Chart, and now has an awesome video to go with it, Christmas Rocks will be out in a few days, and from the clips Courtney's played, it's another banger! Add to this, she'll be coming to America soon to finish her long delayed debut album with her producer Kevin Bowe, who I believe is cowriter on all five songs this year, in Minnesota, probably right after the holidays I think, and I have to say there'll be time for looking back later. Thank you for this reaction, you made my day!

I can - I hope - welcome her to the Courtney Hadwin fan base. Please search for all of CH's publications available on YT. It's going to be a wild ride, but I don't think you'll regret it! I particularly recommend her own compositions from 2023 - since then she has been an independent artist - by demonstrating her versatility and emotionality. I think she was made for rock a' roll - there hasn't been a rocker like her in the last decade(s)! Many greetings from Germany and have fun on your trip to CH

Great reaction 😊 I’ve seen this video a million times and it still gets me teary eyed, and this is when I first started following her. Courtney is now 19 years old and an independent artist releasing all her own songs, but I suggest you watch all her performances on AGT first, then champions, then her 4 cover songs and finely her 4 original songs, and you will see how much she has grown into her incredible voice 😊 but I suggest you strap in cos you will be in for a wild ride 😂😊😊

Welcome to the World of Courtney Hadwin It's a girl you should never expect the expected. She was like that then and still is. She is now a completely independent artist after many ups and downs. She makes music by herself and with Kevin Bowe. She pays for everything herself. To her haters she just says Hit the road Jack and never come back. It's a girl who got a lot of skin on her nose since AGT. But she's also a down-to-earth girl who really keeps in touch with her fans over social media with live chats about one thing and another. Sometimes she sings a song or two.

She finished sixth in 2018 and was invited back to champions where she finished third. She is still very much performing as I said in my last comment. Glad you've discovered Ms. Courtney Hadwin! Liked and sub'd. LOVE that young lady's amazing VOICE. Transports me back to the 1960's in SECONDS! Here, she's singing Otis Redding's 1968 posthumous hit song "Hard to Handle" which he and his band had recorded, but not yet released. They were flying in his private airplane to their next gig when the aircraft went down, killing all aboard. Terrible tragedy, he was a great musician, singer, songwriter, and performer. Please, if not familiar with him, look them up here on KZbin, just like young Ms. Courtney did while still a preteen. Also, look her up (and him) on Wikipedia for details. Like Ms. Angelina Jordan, she STUDIED performances by, and the lives of, the great musicians from her GRANDPARENTS' era. While Ms. Courtney was drawn more to rock and blues rock side of things, AJ was more into the jazz and blues, though both studied plenty of blues and R&B singers-songwriters from the 1950's, 60's, 70's, and maybe into the 80's. Both OLD SCHOOL, with OLD SOULS in young bodies, and OLD VOICES. ENJOY!! A word of WARNING: ALWAYS make AGT/BGT/*GT and The Voice * vids transparent 50% at least, and maybe reversed (mirror image), from the start. Pause to comment a couple of times, and cut audio when they're playing other music after singing stops and before judges interact with contestant, etc. Those companies will ALWAYS claim copyright and will likely give you a strike. Especially for the OTHER music THEY play that we're not even paying attention to at the time of reaction. YT can completely demonetize your channel if you get 3 strikes. It's so stupid that they don't actually have a preset way for Reaction channels to react to, or even compare a pair of, vids, with views of reactions counting as views of the originals. Ssooo many ways the big tech companies mess up what SHOULD be powerful social networking platforms. So frustrating.

I just have to share a bunch of info: Here's a different take on how a newbie should watch this vid. It might still work if you've only seen this performance once, but unlikely, it's pretty memorable. Watch as the judges talk to her. When she bows her head before the Hard to Handle music starts, and you're not sure what's gonna happen, CLOSE YOUR EYES. KEEP THEM CLOSED UNTIL SHE FINISHES SINGING. Pause replay, go back to where you closed your eyes, then watch and listen (and yes, you smartaleck, I mean open your eyes when you pause replay) again. It's a TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE. Here's a link to that clip at start of a longer collection: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooG6f3WLqbKBqbM You're seeing what STRESS, FEAR and MUSIC do to this young girls body. This may be the BEST MAGIC ACT YOU'VE EVER SEEN OR HEARD OF!! But as she just lets the music take over, the stress and most of the fear gets TRANSMUTED into this INTENSE ENERGY that just FLOODS the audience as she hits her stride. The most amazing thing you'll probably ever see! Here's a vid about what happened that day EXCEPT for the actual performance. Enlightening to watch her drawn face and hunched in shoulders, and her cringes as savage Simon's Red Buzzer goes off and dreams are crushed as people get sent home in failure. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH6ti616r9yYgZY Courtney was on The Voice Kids UK the previous year, yeah, at 12 years old. She was a finalist, standing onstage (it was a MUCH SMALLER show, with a MUCH SMALLER in-studio audience, many of which were friends and relatives of other contestants) with the other 5 finalists (3 coaches x 2 kids per coach) when the winner, not Courtney, was announced. By her audition on AGT the following spring, she'd talked herself into believing this might be her ONE BIG CHANCE. Failure here would mean she could never be like Tina Turner or James Brown, or Janice Joplin, or Mick Jagger.... After this one, I'd strongly recommend another clip, her SECOND performance, first after receiving Golden Buzzer, in the first LIVE TV SHOW of the season on AGT, when she uses all that energy to transport us all back to 1965 when James Brown first performed his hit song "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag" (got a brand new gig, way of doing things, not just job). And yes, those dance moves are what comes out after she's studied the old old dances named in these lyrics, and James Brown's own performance and dancing. She gave up on trying to duplicate what he did, and decided to just let the music guide her. So VERY GLAD she made that choice. This is MUCH better than any reconstruction of his moves. This is ORGANIC, it's OF THAT TIME, there are bits and pieces of those old named dances scattered through her performance....it's just friggen' PERFECT!! Be SURE to listen to the judges afterwards. It's the heart of all that comes after, right down to what she's doing TODAY. Simon and MelB especially. Here's that clip: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXqwaYKhbclknLs

Welcome to the Courtney Hadwin rabbithole. I love your reaction, this is the perfect introduction to this incredible star. She is actually British, from the northern English township Hartlepool. I seriously suggest you continue to follow her path through her time on AGT, you will not be disappointed. You will not be getting spoilers from me on how she did. About a year before this, she was on the inaugural season of The Voice Kids UK. Again, you can watch how she did on that, whether she wins, or not, again no spoilers. She was signed after AGT to Syco Records, but the company was sold, and the new owners were not happy with what Courtney sings, and they tried to make her into another generic pop princess, by holding back on her original music. This year, 2023, she broke free from this contract, and went independent. She has released four songs this year so far (and just under a week from this date 19/11/2023, she will be releasing an original Christmas song). Those songs released so far are Breakable, That Girl Don't Live Here, Call Me Back and for Halloween, Monsters. While she was struggling with the record label, she did release an EP of four cover songs, and a cover of the Christmas classic by John Lennon 'Merry Xmas, The War is Over', and she did a lot of covers online (her Quarantine version of Tina Turner's 'What's Love Got To Do With It' is something to behold), and she was booked for the 50th anniversary Woodstock concert, before it was abruptly canceled, and another European music festival last year went the same way. In my own opinion, if it wasn't for bad luck, industrial interference and the pandemic, she'd be up there with the likes of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and the likes. But I do believe that her star is on the rise.
