I love master kens legitamate criticisms. "Thats too many steps" yes. It is. Everyone of those steps you'd have someone fighting you. As displayed your oponent would have to be asleep before you perform the choke.
@bigadam Жыл бұрын
It's a lot of steps, but there's control the whole way. Can confirm that it works (from having it done to me in a match, not doing it myself. I'm not flexible enough for rubber guard). I'll grant the number of steps makes it harder to learn, but once you've got the muscle memory, it's shocking how quickly people can execute moves like this.
@Sonicstillpoint83 Жыл бұрын
It works because you have a game plan and your opponent does not. The first step is to make your opponent, play your game, and not theirs. If you feel that you have to be flexible for rubber guard, it means that you are not on your side enough and haven’t brought your knee close enough to your shoulder.

Training Wheels? Heh funny, my respect fully goes out to those who do both Gi and No-Gi. It's just a different part of the sport. Gi has more moves, is more restrictive to players requiring more skill and less disengagement. No-Gi has less moves, more speed and physical conditioning and is more applicable to MMA. Do one or the other, doesn't matter both are effective for self-defense, whether you do Gi or No-Gi, doing Jiu Jitsu period will most likely allow you to deal with just about any average joe out there in the street. Tho I encourage all to just avoid fights altogether and to still always carry a knife and firearm at all times whenever possible.
