Can You Beat Pokémon Sword Using the Exact Team That Ash Should Have Used?

What team would Ash have used in Galar IF Pokémon Journeys was a regular Pokémon series set in the eighth generation region? More importantly, selecting the teams he would've picked for each battle, can you beat Pokémon Sword? This took way longer than I was expecting when I first got started so sorry for the long break. Well to be fair for Journeys it’s because of the dynamic they introduced between him and Goh, with Ash loving battling, and Goh wanting to complete the Pokédex, so it makes sense Ash doesn’t catch as many Pokémon now

This felt super accurate! Also, I’d imagine Gordie sucked because he only recently became the gym leader, taking over the gym his mother used to run. Something something, working hard, something something inspiration for the side characters. April narrates Ash’s match and when he wins her loud-as-can-be Toxel (the region’s Togepi equivalent) evolves into Amped Toxtricity. He should have had Allister as his travel companion. Ash always has a Gym Leader friend. Allister being a shy, anxious kid would also contrast nicely with Ash's loud and outgoing nature. Maybe his motivation is that he was recently replaced as a Gym Leader by Bea so he wants to travel the region to study different battle styles. Gordie could also be a rival for Ash, hoping to win the Champion Cup and carry on his family's Gym Leader legacy. Hop would start out with similar motivation to Gordie but eventually realize that he wants to step out of his brother's shadow.

You know, considering Galar doens't has a "sidequest dynamic" like Kalos' performance, or hoenn's or sinnoh's or kanto's contest, I can see Galar only anime doing what Alola did and have Ash's companions also participate in the Gym Leader battles. Sure it might be repetitive but it would be interesting seeing back-to-back battles vs the gym leader to have them have more screentime. Maye even let ash finish his region tour earlier so he and his companions can go back to have their own gym battles. All so it can end like Alola league and have ash fight against his companions to have a shot against Leon. Give or take anime letting ash win in another region or give Hope a break and have him be the one that will go against his brother Leon

To be honest I've always sorta felt like Ash will definitely get a Toxtricity eventually. Interestingly in Journeys, he caught a LOT of Pokemon not in Galar. Remember he had a Haunter from the first series too! And I believe Goh is meant to represent Hop or a version of them. I reckon, like in previous series, he will make friends with and travel with a number of gym leaders, most likely Milo, Nessa and Kabu, representing the three primary typings. Ash's Pikachu is special. There's no doubt it would have the Gigantamax form right away as it has literally beaten legendaries. In journeys, it appears to be Bea who Ash has to battle multiple times. I feel like Hop, as well as Marnie and Team Yell and Pier, would all be friends with him in this timeline. Since Ash went to the Island of Armour in this timeline, why wouldn't he get a Kubfu? It would make sense.

i could see cramorant be in ash's team with the episode staring of with a cramorant who is mostly confused half the time (basically galar rowlet) and got into a situation by not knowing it had made a mob of (insert angry pokemon here) angry by eating its food not knowing and just waddles of until it started getting smacked around. in comes ash who orders pikachu to use thunderbolt on the mob of pokemon what scared them of. He rushed cramorant to the pokemon center after after that cramorant just waddles out, ash was kinda upset because he wanted to catch it. awhile later ash is still thinking about cramorant and how it reminds of rowlet. what doesnt make him realise in timethat team rocket has just srung the trap grabbing pikachu. he sends out grookey and corvisquire and ollie sends out foongus and voltorb, jessie sends out chewtle and james sends out arrokuda and meowth and wobbafett fight the other 2. arrokuda is to quick to hit and chewtle was doing huge damage putting ash and ollie in a disadvantage until cramorant comes in and somehow grabs arrokuda what was in an aqua jet and throws it at jessie what bounces of and hits the trap but because it was using aqua jet it broke through freeing pikachu who used thunderbolt and team rocket was blasting of again. at the end ash catches cramorant and thats the episode.

Another trend in Ash's fire types, in the cycle, it normally goes fully evolved, 2nd form, no fire starter Charizard, Quilava, no Torchic Infernape, Pignite, no Fennekin Incineroar, and then the rest fills itself out So it does make sense for Ash to keep a Raboot and not evolve it into a Cinderace

Another great story in video format I loved the great touches like when farfetched and cinderace evolved...or those short scenes depicting the mini arc in the isle of armor. So even thought I don't like SwSh even you can make it fun when doing a story straight out of an anime.

Here's my version of Ash's Galar team. 1. Pikachu. (Male) 2. Rookidee-Corvisquire-Corviknight. (Female) 3. Grookey-Thwackey-Rillaboom. (Female) 4. Scorbunny-Raboot-Cinderace. (Male) 5. Sobble-Drizzile-Inteleon. (Female) 6. Kubfu-Urshifu/Single Strike Style. (Male) They all may seem like predictable and overpowered choices, but in my opinion, Ash would have his powerful team yet, especially with their Gigantamax forms!

I feel like Sobble fits Ash more. It fits with his usual trope of getting a troubled starter in each generation (With only Hoenn as the oddity here) Gen 1: All his starters were abandonded by trainers, but for some odd reason, people only remember Charmander. Gen 2: Cyndaquil Gen 4: Chimchar Gen 5: Tepig Gen 6: Froakie Gen 7: Litten So that would line Sobble up perfectly for him, more so than Grookey does, since it can have a backstory that it gets bullied and brought back every time, until Ash comes along and takes it with him. And aside from Cyndaquil and Tepig, all of them reached final stage. And considering it has happened in 6 out of the 7 previous regions, you can call it a pattern as well and its deffo a better backstory for it than for Scorbunny as well (Heck, that backstory is already ingrained in its Pokedex entry, so they don't even need to make it a stretch, unlike with Grookey and Scorbunny). Kalos was also a yes, but wasn't with Fire, but with Water. So since Kalos it is, Water, Fire, which brings it back to Water in Galar. We can potentially bring in another Pattern was well, which was started in Kalos. Kalos: Water and Fire - No Grass Alola: Fire and Grass - no Water Galar: Grass and Water - No Fire.

Was Cyndaquil troubled? It was just a wild Pokemon with no backstory, wasn't it? Though I suppose another trainer tries to capture it, but Ash beat him to it, if that counts.

Good Pokémon team Good storyline & “good video!” Also Good work!, and it’s been quite a run for this entire series, and I ride for you playing through all these mainline Pokémon games doing the ash Ketchum run challenge, and I gotta say, video video explains what if ash traveled in the Galar region if only he were to lose in the Alola region or even if ash did become Alola champion he still wana Travel more to catch more Pokémon and relive his experience Ike he did in all the past regions he’s traveled in throughout his entire journey through out the entire series!. 😁👏

Man, Ollie's story gets me every time. Not since Pikachu's Goodbye have I teared up at a Pokemon plot like his... I know this might be asking a bit, but I'd love to see this challenge done with Ash's Journey team if possible. Has Dragonite been added to the game with the DLC?

Ash also usually catches a 7th Mon, but it's not one he usually uses, and his Unova squad was BLOATED! I would've given him a Clobbopus or something, since one of his 7th mon's typings tend to overlap with something he already has. Aside from that, this was a really sick video! I got way more invested than I should've lol

Ash technically owns Mr. Mime but has only used it in Journeys, so he could use psychic and fairy types, but it seems to be a signature for Ash won’t be getting another anytime soon.

This is the best channel in KZbin. Would you ever do a "remake" of the Ash teams in the game remakes (say, for example, Ash's Kanto team in Let's Go or Johto team in HeartGold)? I think you could explore Ash being a real dumb boy in a whole new level.
