Can You Beat Pokémon White Using the Exact Team That Ash Used For Every Major Battle?

Alright, it's time for Ash's brain to be reset to default dumb boy mode as we journey into Unova! The Pokémon Protagonist made things easy for us in Sinnoh but that surely won't be the case as we recreate the Best Wishes series. Today, we're asking the question, "can you beat Pokémon White (and briefly White 2) using the exact team that Ash used for every major battle?"
Sorry about the lack of videos lately. These Ash challenges just take a ridiculous amount of work so if I continue regular uploads then it would take like six weeks or more to finish each one. This will be the last one of these for a while. Sorting out everything with a 3DS is going to be something of a nightmare and trying to do that right now is just not an option. Instead, we'll back to regular challenges (although you know mine are never quite that simple).The next one will be in Pokémon Sword because I finally gave up on trying to fix the original capture card I got and just bought a new one instead. I'd say think of it as a Worst Diverse Team meets Solo Typing and it's probably going to take a while. I'm not sure why I decided on getting back into regular challenges with one this difficult but I've recorded eight hours so far and I'm not at the first Gym yet.

John Christopherson I suppose, but think about it like this. Let’s say you were good something basketball for example. You’ve been practicing and playing everyday for years and kept getting better and better. Then at some point you decide to take a break from basketball for like a few weeks to a month. Once you decide to pick up basketball again, you’re for sure gonna be rusty and have to work your way back up to where you were before. That’s the way I see Ash’s transition from Sinnoh to Unova. If I had to rank them from saddest to least saddest here’s what I would put 1.Tepig- he got his mouth tied up so he couldn’t eat by his past owner but still waited there even after breaking off of the pole he was tied to he ran around for days hungry unable to eat due to his mouth tied together and constantly being chased by trainers thinking he’s an umbreon and after he met his owner again he still thinks his old owner cares for him but the only revenge he gets on his old owner for almost killing him was a win against him in a unimportant pokemon battle 2.charmander- same goes for charmander except he was left outside in the rain which could also kill him but he had stuff to hide under to prevent that but he never got revenge on his owner except when ash slapped him 3.littin- he was homeless but had food and the person who always took care of him sadly died right before his eyes 4.chimchar- he was technically abused but not enough that he was left with bruises and he got some amazing revenge on his old owner who abused him

His team comps weren't the issue really. It was ash himself that was the issue. Plus him using mostly first stage pokemon around people whe were using fully evolved pokemon did look right

In terms of the games it really isn't, at least not anymore. People tend to look back a lot more fondly on Gen 5 now, mostly in part to how underwhelming the games have been since Gen 6 (I have been feeling this deep down for a while, but it wasn't really until this generation where I actually noticed it).

In Red oak tells you that fire type starters are harder to train and require more effort, meaning that these trainers probably thought it would be a cool pokemon, without understanding how to actually care for it.
