Pokémon Sword is terribly set up for Bug-Types and six of the worst coming together is going to make things incredibly difficult. I am doing a run as a Bug catcher to see how hard it would be (and also bug is my favourite type so yeah) and ngl, a team consisting of Charjabug (I need a thunderstone so bad :c), Orbeetle, Butterfree, Ribombee, Golisopod and Centiscorch is very OP. I sweep trhough gyms at never known speeds and the only trainers I'm really scared of are Gordie and Leon :P

For my Sword playthrough, I did a mono-Bug team, albeit with fully-evolved bugs. The game was surprisingly tough enough with fully evolved bugs. I can't imagine doing it with first-stage Bug-types.

I always loved Nincada's line, so although I was a bit surprised that it ended up being so versatile, the best I can say is that I like it a bit more now. I hated Golisopod's line. That ability is horrendous... And this player made it work. The nickname referencing a real waterfall from my country and the way it was used to the best of its capacity, making it a cowardly, wimpy little bug that faced insurmountable odds with courage and an abundance of water... I have found a new appreciation for Wimpod. I'm going to watch the Isle of Armor video. Thanks for the content!

The point in making the first form regional bug absolutely useless at the start is to fit theme. Firstly, Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Sewaddle, Scatterbug and Grubbin ALL sucked. Secondly, the bugs here in the UK are pathetic little wimps compared to abroad.

That was definitely one of the better challenge videos I've seen out there so far. Your voice is really nice to listen to even in longer videos, there aren't a bunch of hyper unnecessary "subscribe, etc." comments throughout (which usually have the opposite effect of me) and the video was edited well on top of all that! I hope you'll get the attention you deserve :) (also, since that's a point I notice when watching these kinds of videos, the way your video title is worded is pretty generic nowadays... as in there are TONS of videos with "Can yout beat [game] with ["only" Pokemon name / theme]?" Oh man, your script is so well written! The way you describe things is like from a nice novel, instead of a video, and your voice is really soothing. This was really fun to watch, too. I like how you put characterization to each of your bugs and paid attention to their genders. The only cringe was the pronunciation of Bede's name, which is supposed to be pronounced like the word bead, since I believe he's named after an English monk and historian, but that's easily ignorable and also probably not a well known fact. This was seriously great and I wish I could write as well as this script was done!

Your luck with Pokerus here reminded me of how I first got Pokerus. In Soul Silver, I wanted to use a Growlithe, and I wanted it to have Intimidate. Turns out, getting Growlithe in that game is really hard because it knows Roar, so even when I finally found a Growlithe with the right ability, it'd scare me off with Roar. When I finally caught one, it had Pokerus!

The arena is filled with dust and when it settles the bug has disappeared. A battered Machamp shrinks back to its original size only to be hit by an equally battered nincada bursting out the ground.

I think the entire thing about Hops is how after his defeat against Bede he basically became a shadow of his former self before overcoming his self doubt. Beyond that, I have no idea why people hate on him. Always confuses me.

The game just uses too much Hop in my opinion. Like I also really like Hop, and as far as friendly rivals go, he's probably my favourite. But even still it feels like almost anything you do has a Hop fight somewhere in there, while Bede and Marnie feel widely underused. Also, even though I think they greatly utilised his Woloo / Dubwool from the character building / story perspective, it really shouldn't have been his first pick in every fight it's in. Especially in the battles Hop is on your side. Still his little story arc is great, and you really can't help but feel a bit bad for him, it's not like he's a weak trainer, but also he is trying to follow in footsteps of the greatest trainer the Galar region has ever seen, while competing against the first person to ever beat Leon. I really respect him for the fact even though he ended up giving up on his dream of becoming the greatest pokemon trainer, he quickly sprung back up and found himself a new more realistic dream of becoming a pokemon professor. Bonus points for the fact that even though Hop eventually chose a different path, he still much like his brother decided to dedicate himself to helping people and pokemon in need

Great video, it really shows how Bug type Pokemon have evolved over the generations. Blipbug needs more moves, but it can be bred for Recover which is nifty, and if Snom had Ice Scales they would have been tankier, esp with a Rest/Sleep Talk set. Bug Buzz would be more damage but Struggle Bug would make them really tanky due to the SpA debuffs.
