For the first story, I believe there was an update to it. OP’s parents confronted them at some Auto parts store, blaming them on what happened to their brother, but OP stood their ground and called the parents out on how horrible they are as parents. It got so bad that some random dude called them narcissists that the father got so enraged he attacked the random dude and got arrested (serves him right) It’s been a while since I heard this post but I’m pretty this is what happened

The last story: While I understand that this couple was trying to help, they didn't handle this correctly. That kitten was absolutely petrified and it's NOT a demon kitten. Most cats and kittens would react the same way whether it was a feral, stray or lost. They should have let someone who is more experienced handle this. As someone who has rescued and handled many cats and kittens, I know that this experience was very traumatic for this kitten. Hopefully this kitten will be able to be rescued by people who know what they are doing. Yes, these two people should go to urgent care to get shots and clean up their wounds properly. It probably wouldn't hurt to also get a round of antibiotics. Cat scratches and bites can be very dangerous and make people extremely ill.

But if that doesn't work, getting it to trust you at least a little bit before trying to catch it, can make it a little less traumatic for the cat. Regardless the cat will be stressed out and traumatized at first even if it's friendly. Gloves and sleeves should be worn when doing this to help reduce the chances is getting scratched and bitten

there's an update, the brother is starting to be better person and is paying for the damages to the car. The parents on the other decided to go scold the op calling them cruel and to just drop, but op talks back to them and calls them out about spoiling their brother. A random stranger overheard the conversation and called both parents narcissists and in response the dad attacked the guy. Good news the piece of sh*t dad was arrested for assault and battery.

I’ve been in the exact situation with a terrified kitten before. You gotta understand that it’s literally scared shit senseless: lost probably dumped, no mom, hungry and thirsty, loud noisy machines everywhere, giant strangers everywhere, alone… poor thing was frightened. And grabbing it doesn’t mean it would settle down, especially if it isn’t socialized to humans. It feared for its life. You’d bite, scratch and whatever if you were in the same situation too. Hopefully it’s ok, but it sounds like the park is already an improvement from a parking lot.

You need to get him home & put him in a room by himself & PATIENTLY let him get used to you. Exactly! Thank you! We got a calico kitten from our grandparents house. She was alone without any of her siblings or mother. She was there for a long time and my grandpa fed her and left a career crate out for her with a towel inside. She was shy at first and hide behind some boxes back there since my grandparents were still just settling in. She did become more comfortable enough and when we had to leave to go back home we gave her a small bath in a sink to get some fleas off her(luckily she was mostly white) and she was quiet for a 5 hour car ride home. And now she a healthy, playful, and funny little sister to our other cat and the introduction took about two weeks but they get along. Any stray animal would be scared of something they are unfamiliar with not knowing a person is trying to help and that if they are a friend or foe.

I was the spoiled child in my home when i was growing up, but i can say i still caught some parental abuse from my ultra-religious nutcase parents [and idiot grandma], but my brother caught the worst of it. My brother was a bully growing up, but he mellowed out and became nicer later on, but no one noted his maturity and he constantly got crap from most of my family, except from our deceased uncle. I won't repeat things, as they were horrific in hindsight, or i can barely remember.... but my brother grew to do substances in what i think was trying to forget the pain, while growing to be able to mask his feelings, but when he shows his anger or sadness he shows it a lot. Despite this, he has a job, and can move on in life. Me? I was the 'angel' for most of my childhood due to looking helpless and having aspergers. I became a big brat in my teens, and still am a bit of one on impulse. Yet, i never had been heaved with high expectations. I got the favored treatment a lot, basically... so, spoiled. To this day, i might not smoke or drink, but i don't have a job, and i have a temper i cannot control, especially when leaving my comfort zone. I pity my brother, as i realize all kids deserve love as a kid, and he got a lot of crap... especially from my grandma during his last couple years here, but he was just a normal man at heart. In the end, i cannot say for sure what goes on with parents that show preferences, but i can sure say that the spoiled ones [like me] tend to become losers due to being coddled, while the ones abused end up needing to learn to endure the world sooner. In reality, i think it's easier to say, all kids need equal love and even development. The spoiled one is presumably often hurt developmentally, while the unfavorite is left an emotional wreck left to learn faster and lose their childhood faster despite them deserving laughs and smiles too. Balance the yin and yang, as they say, or it leads to problems.

The kitten story happened to me more than once. Scared kittens bite hard and take awhile to calm down. I've pulled one out of my manager's car engine. Got another after running across 4 lanes of airport traffic, that kitten was very angry and scared. I have plenty of scars because animal rescue isn't a joke and anything with teeth can and will bite and it's a fact that at some point you will get bit and scratched by an animal that is terrified.

I have a decommissioned Crown Vic like the OP for story 1. Those cars get retired are retired when they reach 100,000 miles, but with good care and regular maintenance, can keep going for about 500,000 miles. No wonder it outlasted the beater cars!

Honestly, in the second story, the fact that the boyfriend has brought up marriage in an abstract way sounds to me like he's been thinking of getting married to. He's trying to use logical reasons (mortgage, taxes, insurance, etc) because maybe he thinks if he gives you a non-sappy reason, you'll go for it. Hell, when I married my husband, we discussed marriage completely in the "okay, so here's why this is a good idea" way, without the emotional stuff because we both already knew we loved each other and would make a good team and we both were prepared emotionally for a long term commitment. We've been married now for 27 years because we rationally weighed the pros and cons in advance, and figured that the positives, even without the lovey dovey stuff, far outweighed the negatives.

Story 3 is a big yikes. That sounds more like a one sided platonic relationship, and I kinda feel bad for the OP for getting this deep without realizing it. I will agree that (if I'm understanding right) the guy physically pushing her away was a tad rude, he could've been a bit more courteous rather than push her away to dance with the other woman. That said, that doesn't excuse her for having a meltdown over a completely platonic relationship that the guy clearly doesn't reciprocate or at least hasn't had a proper conversation about. Like, talk with him about your feelings girl because he clearly doesn't know how you feel or he does and you stuggle to accept he doesn't see you in that way, and if it's option 2 try to book some therapy appointments and move on.

I feel bad for Dave, in the sense that he is a product of his enabling, I don't fault the Uncle for using his pull to get the DUI dropped this ONE time, because it was ice that caused the crash, and no one was hurt and no serious damage, so it was a scared straight moment. The fact Dave had to face consequences, was scared to the point of pissing himself, after being so spoiled by the parents, actually apologized, and fixed the car, and hopefully changed for the better, even slightly, I think that is fair to allow the DUI to be ignored rather than ruin his life more than just getting a $600 fine.

Last story is just a regular kitten that is not socialized and scared. The way they approached and seized the animal would make any kitten bite. I think they watched too many online videos. If you need to remove or catch a kitten like that, it's best to use a blanket to swaddle it and place it in the (with holes) and hold that box tight. It is likely not rabies.

The correct way to go about this is with a blanket or towel to completely wrap kitty in. Being swaddled in this way eases the anxiety & helps you to maintain better control of kittie"s movements. You can then transport to a safe location.

At the last story, it was kinda sad. The cat was just very scared and was probably biting the people because they suddenly grabbed it and had a very strong grip. The car was just probably shocked since it got picked up with unimaginable grip to it and tossed into a large truck after defending itself.

Last story: sounds like kitty was feral though with a bit of work it could have been redomesticated being so young. About 12 years ago we had several free range cats in our area and me being the cat guy would call out to them as I saw them. One was obviously a neighbor's cat out and about that would come running because skritches are awesome ( much to the chagrin and at least an hour of stink eye and remarking me as one of her hoomons by our cat) while another would look my way and beat feet at feline Mach speeds the other way. One February I've got the ladder out taking down the Christmas decorations when I hear a meow behind me and assume it's the neighbor's cat begging some skritches and look to see it's the other NOPE cat. I carefully come down off the ladder and carefully extend my hand and she cautiously approaches and began to nuzzle against me looking the cat over as I'm petting her she's been obviously in need of food so I go inside and liberate one of our cat's cans of wet food for her. As she's tucking in to the food I get my wife and after we both look her over decided to take her in but our little girl made it abundantly clear this was a one kitty household and that kitty was her. Now faced with what to do as I was not about to just turn her back over to the wild again went back out to have a smoke and ponder my options when my neighbor stepped out of her house and asked her if she'd be interested in taking this cat we found. It was love at first sight with my neighbor and was homed. Considering the time of year she was named Valentine and was well loved but apparently she liked being a free kitty and 3 months later she took advantage of a door open just a hair too long and bolted. I'd see Valentine roaming from time to time for a few years after but assume she met with something she couldn't fend off or an encounter with a steel belted radial but eventually never saw her again.

While you are about to earn his trust by offering food and he was coming towards you, you shouldn’t have grab him immediately. Cats don’t like that, he got scared. Your intention was good but you handled wrongly. And above that you locked the poor kitty in car. He got more scared. Cats are cutest little animals but it is little different to handle than dogs.

The kitten story is the only one I want to comment on. That is a feral kitten, cats have to handled between 2 and 9 weeks by humans to be domesticated or they are forever feral. The most loving thing you can ever do for that particular feline is have it neutered and then release it somewhere it can safely live out its life.

Last story: Nothing's wrong with the cat. It's just feral and extremely paranoid and on guard since it's had to fend for itself for so long and try not to become prey for a bigger predator in the wild. The OP just went about the rescue too carelessly. Cats aren't like dogs and you need to be patient and come across a lot less aggressive towards them to gain their trust and eventual affection. And yes, cats will tear your @$$ up if you put them into survival mode 🤦‍♂️😂 They would've saved themselves a lot of grief if they would've got the box beforehand and trapped it while it was eating. They make amazing low maintenance, affectionate pets but they're not pack animals like dogs and you need to respect their boundaries if you want to build a good relationship with them.

Man, the kitten was just terrified of course it freaking bit ya! First of all, some random creature just suddenly grabbed it in a "death grip" which would terrify most animals. Secondly, there are domesticated cats that scratch and bite their owners, 'course a scared kitten is gonna attack what it sees as an aggressive attacker (again refer to the "death grip"). Honest opinion is they really should have either A: gone about saving the kitten a different way (animal control, be more patient with it, etc.) B: expected to get bit and scratched, as it is safe to assume that a random kitten in a parking lot (assuming it had no collar because they had wanted to save it) is either a stray or possibly even feral, both of which will bite and scratch if provoked (I mean even domesticated cats scratch when provoked but you get my point) or C: just left it alone (cruel but safest option for them, plus the cat could be carrying multiple diseases) especially as some random joe with no animal rescue training/animal handling training/etc.

Had a woman who worked for the lixal animal rescue come taln to me about my dogs onceand started to pit her hand inside tbe fence but I got my arm in yne way and took the bite she would have gotten and she definitely should have known never to try and handle a strange animal.

You are absolutely right. It was not a demon kitten but is extremally petrified and the experience only traumatize the poor thing. I have rescued and handled many cats and kittens and this was not the right way to do this. It's good that the couple is going to urgent care to get their wounds cleaned up and see about getting antibiotics and any shots that the doctor may recommend.

Story 4, some cats are stray cats and are used to living on the streets and I think that most people assume that all cats on the street are struggling and need to be saved. I think the OP shouldn't have grabbed the cat, cats are not normally a big fan of hugs or being picked up and the OP kind of deserved it because the cat made it obviously as soon as it was picked up with the biting that it did not want to go with the OP. So you kind of need and I think it's funny that the OP got bit. That cat clearly doesn't like humans and you just got on it's bad side. If I were you, I was just leave it unless animal control is open because cats are always secretly demons.

Yeah I was thinking it was feral too. My own cat is sort of a rescue cat. I was out for a walk along a riverbank, and heard a kitten mewing. When I tracked her down, I found her all tangled up in fishing line. She was far too tired and weak to fight me, so I cut her free, and waited a minute or so. That's when she decided she was my new owner. I took her home, and did a crash course in how to look after a kitten/cat. Five years later, she is still as adorable as the day I came across her.

About a year ago, one of my neighbors' kids came by and asked if I could help them get a kitten that was trapped in their daddy's truck (it climbed up in the wheel well and did NOT want to come out. I'm proudly known as the Cat Lady in my neighborhood, so I said I'd come take a look. I saw a feral little floof who was spitting and hissing, and ran home for a towel and my daughter, who I'm training to be my Cat Lady successor (because two sets of hands is better than one). We got her out, but not before she bit and scratched us both, through the towel. As she was a kitten, we took her home and introduced her to Pepper, who is the Mother-of-All to any strays we bring in. Pepper quickly got her in line. Now her name is Olive and we love her and she doesn't even like going outside. She pitched a fit when we took her outside to take her to her first vet visit - like, she was fine being in the carrier, but as soon as the outside air hit her, she went bonkers, yowling and moaning, until we were back indoors again. She took the vet checkup better than she did fresh air, lol.

The OP in the last story has a lot to learn when it comes to helping stray or feral animals. Forcefully grabbing the cat is one of the dumbest ways anyone can do to handle a cat, of course he'd be freaked out and try to defend himself. Even a housecat would have problems if someone does that as well. OP if you are reading this, the cat isn't being a demon, in fact from his point of view you are the demons.

The second story: I guess despite the “patriarchal origins of marriage”🤮 wasn’t a deterrent for getting married. Maybe dispute the twisted telling of the origins, marriage was actually desired by people, especially women, as a concrete sign of commitment. If you agreed with your boyfriend to not get married and expect him to know you changed your mind about it, you’re going to be waiting a long time for his proposal. You have to tell him you want to get married. That you decided the “patriarchal origins” weren’t entirely accurate and you want it for more than practical reasons; you have to talk to him or he will never know your change of heart.
