Second story is a great argument for one party consent laws. Have them with the provision the recordings were made for valid reasons.
@VR00100
@VR00100 Ай бұрын
First and foremost why should recording conversations be illegal in the first place? I can understand it to be illegal if it infringes on say company secrets/patents If you're gonna say something out loud (anything really), you think before you speak. Tbf we live in a funny world where even if we have common sense we just don't use it The courts say they provide "justice" but then you need evidence against them and planting like a voice bug is illegal because it "infringers their privacy", I can see this argument being used against stalkers but then again use common sense, those with a valid reason should be allowed to do so.

I deal with FMLA a lot as a supervisor. What hallened in story 1 is horrifying. They all deserved what they got. OP wasn’t obligated to share any details (though often people do). I wonder how Aubrey would have reacted if OP did tell her what happened when she came to her house. I would love to have seen her face. Showing up to her house after everything that happened was beyond stupid.
@MarkStockman-b4j

I remember a story awhile back where OP's coworkers bullied her until she gave them personal medical info- then complained to HR that she had "created a hostile work environment" by factually answering their questions. In that one, both of OP's grandmothers had died of breast cancer, her mother had survived it, and OP agreed to a preventative radical double mastectomy. This was traumatic, and destroyed OP's self image. So on the advice of her psychologist, she got implants. Cue harassment from ignorant coworkers for being "plastic and fake."

The second story, the Reddit post even says herself she was going to take advantage of the court because she’s knows they tend to favor the mother, as well as subtly admitting she cheated on her husband to “gain the confidence to leave”. How the hell do you make that statement and still see yourself as the victim?
