After one of the the race organizer chastised me, but I scooped up my son so he doesn’t get ran over by anyone else. And I was the one chastised when didn’t do it. After I told my wife how dangerous it was and she friend it around on me and made me feel bad. It wasn’t a marathon, just a 2 mile race that kicks off our towns annual fair, so it didn’t mean as much as as mma marathon, but it was still dangerous. The mother responded and said she wanted the kids there and for them to run through the finish line with her. When she realised she would win, she, in that moment, changed her mind to be the first woman to win by dodging her kids when she realised someone was behind her. The man she hugged at the end was her brother. The husband was doing as instructed. This is why people need to stop gossiping about what they thought happened. This only spreads wrong information.

A lot of arm chair psychologists in this section who clearly have zero experience in endurance racing. Crossing the finish line with your kids is a really nice thing many people do, go check the finish line photos of any marathon or triathlon and youll see a great number (men and women) doing this. To train for a race you have to spend a lot of time away from your family and its nice to let your kids bask in the finish line feeling with you and create a memory for them which you hope encourages them to undertake similar feats when they are older or at least encourage them to live a healthy life. She has come out and stated that is what they had agreed to do and why the father brought the kids to the race. It so happened that apparently she was in 1st place, with a time of 1.40 she cannot have been expecting this as in reality this is not a great time. So she didn't want to jeopardise her win, he went to follow through with what they had agreed. He probably understands why she did this, she does also. Maybe we should mind our own business.

From what they all immediately assume without question it is clear that THEY feel undervalued and unseen and they just project it on this poor woman and her husband - which, in all fairness, is the internet in a nutshell. Still, it is curious that the actual explanation (as per the woman in the video) of an agreed „wanna finish with my kids, it’ll be cute“ Plan getting dumped last minute because she had a narrow chance to win was hardly even considered as a possibility…

The people who complain about parental burnout and say the solution is not not spend time with their kids are horrible people who should never have had kids in the first place. Being a parent takes tremendous personal sacrifice (to do it well) and for at least the next 15~20 years or so are basically entirely dedicated to your children. If you dont want to make that sacrifice, thats totally respectable. Whats not respectable is having kids anyway just to proceed to neglect them. (No, im not saying the mom was being neglectful by finishing the race, i’m talking specifically about the people in the on-screen comments proving they dont deserve kids)

I would argue that is her egocentric behavior a problem rather then him or kids. We live in society where "me" goes first instead of "us". This guy has done nothing wrong except supporting his wife nor only on the race day but also in preparations for that race. She did not even look back to her kids after finishing, as a parent I found this much more disturbing.

If you don’t wanna have your kids involved in everything you do in life why are you even a parent.. I think this dad is 💯 a fool for letting his kids on to a race course but come on you all be making this into so much more than it really is and tbh it’s showing just how many mothers and fathers out there who shouldn’t have kids

These comments are disgusting. Everyone attributing malice to the father and saying the mother deserves to out herself first. Parents should be parents first. No exceptions. Should the father have done that? No. But stop saying he was selfish or just wanted to be rid of his children.

@@raymondvaldez4101 How do you know it was selfish? Has the mother and father come out and said it was done out of pure selfishness? Maybe, just maybe, they talked about it before and the mom wanted to cross the finish line with her children but once the time came she was just too tired and knew if she slowed for even a second she wouldn't win?

Why didn't the father and the kids just stand behind the finish line and hug her when she actually won? Seems like he doesn't know how these competitions work.

The dad always chooses his kids. Their mom runs around them to get to the finish line. Hahahah when she divorces him and ends up alone we will all laugh collectively.

Ridiculous. No need to make a 'movement' behind the dad trying to get the children to enjoy their mom's victory.

this is the scenario and reaction he tried to create by pushing the kids into the track and making the mother choose between something she trained for for weeks and maybe months and hugging her kids, something she can might as well do after she finishes. he used the kids as pawns in his game and even put them in danger by guiding them into a race track where heavy adults are running. abusing kids the physical and emotional wellbeing of kids to humiliate and sabotage women is not even a new low for misogynists like you, since you've done this for ages. no sruprise at all.
