But see, here's the thing she is clearly the only one that is competing. They are well aware of her financial situation. They grew up with her. If she lied about the type of guy that she managed to "bag" There was no reason to lie. Other than to compete with her friends. And she's the only one competing. The rest are just living their lives. She's the one who feels inferior even though they don't see a reason for her to feel that way nd they want to be her friend, but she still feels some type away about the disparity between their lives. I went to an all girl private highschool. When you're the poor one compared to everyone else it's kinda annoying. But I grew out of feeling bad about it by 15. If you need to constantly impress your friends to keep them, they're not your friends.

Since it's an AITA story: NTA, but OP deserves a smack to the noggin for making a lot of classic mistakes. Moving in and getting hitched way too early, failing to notice the company the ex-fiancée hangs out with, both are major red flags for any relationship. Even if she opened her eyes (which I have my doubts on) to the truth, I still would not hitch my wagon to this horse, if you know what I mean. OP, you are still young (mid-20s), so just treat this as a failed investment and move on. Focusing on building yourself, and since you said you are a software engineer, I think you have set yourself up for a good trajectory. The right person will come around as long as you make yourself appealing, but also learn from your mistakes. Take your time, get to know her, and do not rush into moving together, let alone marry. It's only through time where you can actually spot the red flags in the relationship, so start from there.
