I’m glad OP sued and won against that stupid airline. He should also sue the nurse and report her to the licensing authorities to cost her any license she holds.
@Dragon_RangerYT
@Dragon_RangerYT Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that wouldn’t do much good. She only said what she said due to her last memory of when she possibly saw him. If she saw him as just a med student and not knowing if he was a third year or fourth year med student, would make it difficult for her to not know if he had graduated. Also if he wasn’t doing his residency in the same hospital that the nurse works at would also make it hard for her to know if he had graduated.

To be fair, the nurse wasn't in the wrong. She said what she thought was correct and was correct when she last saw him. The crew could have casually asked him for id or documents confirming he is a doctor at any point and nipped it in the butt.

First story: op should sue that nurse, she was the one who made those accusations and i'm sure it was because she wanted to get some attention. What other reason there can be. If she didn't want to get attention and honestly wasn't sure if op was a doctor or not, only thing she needed to do was to stay beside that patient and make sure that op wouldn't do anything wrong. That's it, only that patient and his life matters, everything else can be done later.

Story 1 UPDATE: "So the patient from the plane had a lawsuit going against the airline. I had supplied an affidavit for this, along with several other passengers and testimony from an emergency specialist doctor as an expert witness. I think the airline saw the writing on the wall after a preliminary hearing, and so settled out of court for an undisclosed amount. I'm not currently at liberty to discuss more details about that particular case. After they settled his case, they finally started taking my second (and larger) lawsuit a bit more seriously and came to a mediation with an actual offer. We were finally able to settle out of court for significantly more than my original suit which was filed at the time of the incident, because in the interim I have faced burnout and had to take 3 months off of work at least in part due to being unable to take the only holiday opportunity I was granted as a house officer (read: intern/junior resident). They finally issues a written apology to me from the CEO of the airline, which is what I was after all along. Once I receive my settlement, I'm going to use some of the money to fly business class to Bali on the airline's main rival as a final middle finger to them lol. As for the nurse situation that many of you were talking about, the issue was dealt with at the same time. She was not truly at fault here (again all she did was make a passing comment to the air crew that was taken waaaaaay too far) but she did endanger the patient and faced a small penalty as a result. I never felt the need for a personal libel case against her, it was all contained within the patient's lawsuit."

Story 1: That is absolutely crazy and stupid. Forget simple small claims, i would be suing the crap out of the airline, the flight attendant and the nurse. Rather then asking his credentials, or even half-assed thanking him for helping the patient, they call the cops on this guy? WTF! I dont know who i'm more mad at here; the nurse or the flight attendant. Both of them really need to be held responsible for all of this debacle. Fortunately the police were able to verify the OP was indeed a doctor, but then the airplane just abandons him with all his stuff, and won't admit any wrongdoing? That's a complete scummy move. The flight attendant and nurse should both fired over this. Story 2: Never ever lie to places like the Labour Department or police or the taxman... it will NEVER be good and will not be in your favor. As a person who has been in the restaurant for 20+ years, there is absolutely no unwritten or unspoken code of telling the truth to some agency like that.... especially if you are getting screwed over on money. If they are being shady on money for any reason, that is all you need to run for the hills and very quickly. Also, if management is going to threaten your job over this, you need to go back to the Department of Labour and tell them about that too. Story 3: I can't blame the OP for waiting to sell that house, and she does deserve a better place. As for the bf, he sounds extremely lazy here. He either just needs a motivation boost here, or the OP needs to find someone better here. Seems like he is intentionally dragging his feet here. Story 4: OP should've called the police on this guy a long time ago, he is 100% a stalker.

You should break up with him before he breaks your heart 4th story: THIS GUY IS STALKING YOU, you should report him, to the police, his job, everyone. I just can't understand the stalker mentality. I think the guy doing the breakdown of the first situation didn't realize they didn't just assume that the person wasn't a doctor because of their age, but because someone claimed they knew them as a medical student after seeing them at their hospital, which is what started the whole thing. That being said they definitely did everything wrong in the situation and deserved to lose that lawsuit especially as they never admitted they messed up to try and save face even though no one would have heard about it if they had just admitted it where because they didn't it fucked them over more in the end than it otherwise would've. Sucks for them! Edit: Oh yeah... Also forgot my whole reason for mentioning this... There are tons of people that would pretend to be a doctor just like there are tons of people who pretend to be cops. Also yeah that person who recognized them should've just asked "Oh hey! I remember you from when you were a medical student... So you graduated and you're a doctor now? That's cool!" That way they could have at least tried to confirm their suspicions rather than just assuming the worst and making someone regret trying to be helpful. This is for the girl who wants to sell her house. Based on what you indicated about your BF situation about not giving you a key kinda sounds fishy. I mean, hasn't he heard of a key maker? Even if he doesn't want to talk with someone in a hardware store, they do have machines that can make duplicate keys and they are very easy to use. Also the fact that you can't leave any of your things there kinda sounds like he's hiding the fact that he's in a relationship with you. The reason why I'm pointing this out is because I have a cousin who actually did this exact same thing, although I will admit that I was the one who let her in to surprise him for a promotion that he got at work, however low and behold he also happened to be celebrating with one of his co-workers who also did not know that he was in fact engaged to her. Did I fail to mention that she was also waiting for him in a Victoria Secret outfit that cost so much, but hardly had any material. But that's besides the point. You seriously need to do a little recon on his place when he believes that you are not around. And if you're wrong, well, no harm, no foul. However, this situation sounds pretty fishy to me.

Seriously, the nurse recognized him as a student from a year ago. Don’t these people realize that one does stay a student forever?? Eventually that student is a doctor. They didn’t even question him about it. And this nurse waits how long before standing up and offering help?? Irate spun like the doctor had the patient as stable as possible before the nurse even decided to offer help. I have to wonder if she had it in for him for some reason.

I think I'm right in saying that it is against international law for airlines to fly planes containing any luggage belonging to someone who is not on the flight. If they eject someone from a flight, they have to get their luggage off too. Otherwise, it would allow terrorists who manage to get a bomb onto a plane to make a big fuss and get thrown off before takeoff. Not all terrorists are suicidal! So the airline in story 1 ought to face consequences for that too.

the story with the woman being harassed by the restaurant worker - call the police and the restaurant right away! Society says women are supposed to be "nice" and "meek" and "don't rock the boat" and all that. And you don't want to be a karen, but you do need to stand up for yourself. Don't worry about the guy's job. YOU aren't getting him in trouble. HE IS. He's being a creepy stalker and should have been arrested and fired. This poor girl gave up a restaurant she clearly enjoyed so she wouldn't upset this one guy. Never change who you are or what you do for a guy. Report them. That's how things change - holding people accountable. It happens the other way too - if a guy is being harassed by a woman. that behavior is no bueno no matter who's doing it. no on owes anyone their time or attention. Say "no" right away and report them. At least to the restaurant. like "hi, store manager person, john stopped by, drunk, and it was really uncomfortable. i love your food and want to keep ordering from you, but can you please not have him deliver?" or put it on yelp or something, if you have anxiety about talking to someone. anyway - thank you for coming to my TED talk.
