They guy did not speak in a toxic manner to his wife. He had to lay down those rules cause she was emotional with their child who they would need the money she was spending on her sister, to raise... He was quite blunt, but did you NOT LISTEN. The sister would invite them to places and then make THEM pay. I don't know how you would say it, but he had few options, i feel.

Absolutely wrong about the money thing with the wife. He's absolutely in the right to withhold money as he suggests if the wife is not willing to come to an agreement. The money earned for that relationship is for that relationship. Helping family once in a while is ok, but thinking it's ok to give family the easy street and full access to your finances is only going to end in divorce regardless. Being harsh on the husband for wanting to protect their future is being blind to the situation. There was a better way for him to do it, sure, but he's correct and she and her sister are both more in the wrong for the sister taking advantage of the wife's love for her sister.

Story 3: No, His money isn’t her money. In many households around the world, the husband and wife work separate jobs and make their own money. My parents, for example, have separate incomes, disposable incomes, and even take turns paying rent. So for the OP’s wife’s sister to just come in and take money from the OP is completely ridiculous. The OP is a great husband for getting his point across, but he should have done it less aggressively and angrily, but he has a completely valid point. The wife can go work a job, or find her own way of earning income, which gives her disposable income that she can spend on her sister if she wants. Also, this sister needs to get her @ss up and work. Like, i get it, you have a Neurological condition, but it’s not impossible to find a job and do the work, like the OP said. Talk about it to a manager, see if you can work something out. Her reliance on her sister is embarrassing at this point 🤦‍♀️.

Story 1: It's always bad managers that seem to ruin an entire workplace, and this Bob jerk is a super jerk here. First off, its absolutely none of his business who applied for the position he got beforehand. Second, his arrogance is just crazy. Pretty much strutting around like he owns the place. Im surprised other managers and higher-ups didnt call him out before all this happened. Third, this Bob guy absolutely deserved to get fired, both for this incident with the OP's walk-out and all the other crap he was pulling. Good thing the GM had the OP's back here, because the fact that the OP walked out could've gone the other way and the OP couldve been fired and Bob wouldve been left alone. In the end, Screw Bob. Story 2: OP isn't a jerk, but pretty dumb with their money. The momet you give someone a dime, they are ALWAYS going to ask and expect more and more and more..... which is what clearly happened here. I get that some people need help and all, but this "friend" here is just a mooch. Just watch, as soon as the OP quits handing out money, the friendship will either end or be very strained. Story 3: OP is not a jerk, but he really need to be more firm with the wife here. If she was only using her own money to help the sister here, then i dont think it would be as much of an issue here, but now that she is using joint and the OP's money does cross a line i feel. The wife is really being a major enabler here. While i understand the sister has a condition, she's also doing very little to help and help herself and is clearly just expecting the wife to basically 'mother' her and do everything. The sister has definitely crossed into "laziness" territory here and i think the OP has every right to be frustrated here. Story 4: People are so stupid sometimes when it comes to naming children. It isnt unique, it isnt cute, it isnt funny, its just dumb, and i know a lot of provinces, states and even some countries don't allow names like that on a birth certificate. Why would you ever think "Hashtag" would be a good name? You've literally put a giant target on that kids back for all kinds of issues later in life. OP isnt a jerk at all, and the friend is a complete idiot. Story 5: This is 100% a terrible relationship and the gf here is a bad gf and a bad person. If you're thinking of breaking out, i say do it and soon, otherwise things are going to get worse here.

For the third story, while OP may have been harsh and perhaps a little inapropriate, he is in the right. The sister needs to learn to support herself, the wife can't keep enabling her. I guess you could debate about who deserves what in a situation where there's a joint bank account and the wife is dealing with a pregnancy (a situation where both man and woman carry responsibility) but OP does have a point in that it's unfair for his wife to spend the money he worked for on things he doesn't agree with.

His money is her money yes but she is not being responsible with it. If this is the first time having this convo then yeah he's being a jerk but if they possibly had thos convo before and she just ignored him then I understand where he's coming from. The sister needs some tough love to be able to thrive as an adult and if his wife isn't going to dish out the tough love to her sister then yeah he has to dish it out to his wife. I personally think his intentions are sound.

Helping the poor these days is not what it used to bed. Impoverished used to be grateful for a loaf of bread but now get pissy if you don't pay the wifi. Ive had Impoverished family. When i had to quit paying for their groceries because i got married and became pregnant, i was a horrible person (ie it was my own mother). Because i had to save so my child had diapers. It drove me to become firm in not giving anyone on the streets any money, i'll drop a burger and bottled water instead. I refuse to help anyone who refuses to help themselves. Don't care if it makes me a jerk

"Your money is her Money" ........... Eh, mate. Last I checked, the one who EARNS the money belongs to THEM. Now if the roles of the story switched "Wife works, Husband doesn't work and waste money" , the Wife would be in the right. Yeah, no. That's not how it works. The Money belongs to the Household like paying for Bills, Food, even for the Child. Everything else is secondary. Marriage equals Teamwork.

13:59 I think husband in the right here from what I am hearing the sister never pays back so he basically losing his money that his working for you can’t just take money and not be expected to pay back all so it’s not her money even if your both are married it doesn’t make his money hers he letting her use it he has the right to cut her off it sounds like he paying for everything anyway so maybe money is a low as well there so many things he could not be telling us mate and ti me the wife in the wrong for letting it get this far

I agree with the guy in the third story. As the sole breadwinner you have the right to say "This is what we're spending *MY* money on." The narrator is living in a fantasy world. His money is not her money, his money is not their money, his money is his money, and he has every right to do what he wants with it.
@docomega7862
@docomega7862 Жыл бұрын
It's a joint account, seriously did none of you actually bother to listen? He also said that the wife was working before, so she likely is only on maternity leave. While the narrator's take was kinda trash on this one, you all rush to conclusions like he is sole breadwinner or it's his account because you don't listen to the full story
@clericofchaos1
@clericofchaos1 Жыл бұрын
@@docomega7862 A joint account just means she can take money out of it too. It doesn't actually mean that it's her money. Also, i was paying attention and i know that she was on maternity leave, which means when she starts earning again she can go back to supporting her sister. That's even what the op actually said. Until then, she's spending his money.
@docomega7862
@docomega7862 Жыл бұрын
@@clericofchaos1 just because she stops contributing at some point doesn't mean it automatically means it's his money. She still put the money she earned (I don't remember the op talking about her having her own account, so I'll assume she puts most of her money in the joint account, mybe savings into some other), so the husband can't just prevent her from accessing to an account she contributed to. Unless it is implied that she spends so much on her sister that it outweights everything she ever contributed to in the joint account. I personally think that she is being financially irresponsible so I won't argue about this part. However, with the info given to us (unless I missed something), I do believe it is a jerk move to threaten to cut her from an account to which she contributed. With more details like her spending more than she contributes or her stating she'll drop her carreer forever to become a stay at home mom, indeed making the husband the sole breadwinner permanently, I would've completely taken the husband's side as in this particular case it would indeed only be his money. But, as those details are missing, I have to assume there is still some of her money in the joint account so the husband is still being a bit of a jerk. However, the biggest jerk here is still the sister for exploiting the wife, then the wife for being irresponsible, and then the husband. With more details, I would remove the husband, and maybe put the wife as biggest jerk if she didn't plan on working again as it would be more his money than theirs at this point

Eh. As far as the sister, goes; i would have said we are getting a divorce if we are paying for her sister. It is both of thier money, and he was wrong in the way he voiced it. But I would have left long ago. As far as # I would pointed out that the symbol is older, and I would have called the kid pound. Sharp is technically angled the other way from my experience (with music and programming with C Sharp).

Last story…I don’t agree that she is lazy…I do think there could be other issues. I have always been extremely difficult to wake up. I have to set a dozen alarms to make sure I’m awake when I need to be. I have insomnia and can go days without sleep or months with only naps here and there. I also now really struggle sleeping if I know I have to be awake early. So maybe the gf has insomnia or other issues when sleeping. But I do agree they should not stay together. OP sounds really annoying and judgmental.

The last story: not to play devil’s advocate here, but women on average need more sleep than men. Plus OP said she was on a weightloss journey, of course she is moody… anyone who goes on any diet gets moody. Idk i feel like OP needs to check himself too and try to see stuff from her perspective as well.

Story 3: I saw many comments criticizing the narrator for his stance on the question and saying the wife was stealing the husband's money. While I don't agree in all cases with the "your money is her money" statement, in this case, and it is something no one mentioned, this is a joint account. It's not his account but their account, and with the wife having a job before the pregnancy (she probably is on maternity leave) it is very likely that she too was contributing to the joint account. So threatening to cut her access to their money that she too contributed to feels absolutely wrong. That said, I will say that the wife isn't completely financially responsible as she can't put her foot down to say her sister no. But, threatening to cut access to money she worked towards is absolutely not the right way to go about it. So, everyone is kinda the jerk, but the sister is the biggest one, not the husband
@ElRoc

I don't usually comment, but YIKES that's a bad take on story 3 Is the OP just supposed to let the sister drain them of their money just because she can use the OP's wife as a direct access to the bank account then? It may sound tough, but if the wife can't stop herself from ruining their financial situation, cutting her off from the money the OP makes is the only way to stop their situation to go downhill

The narrator is very obtuse in his observation of story 3. If you are making the money in the household, you absolutely have the final say in what that money gets put towards within reason. The fact that you believe that OP should essentially be a doormat and an ATM is wild. This doesn't surprise me, considering the narrator has made some outlandish comments in obviously one-sided stories going against the victim of the scenario

Story 2. There's no way the narrator simps this hard. I have a feeling these narrators purposely say argumentative perspectives in order to stir up the comments and get more video interactions. I think you are quite wrong about the husband theres no easy way about this but he married his wife not her sister. He didnt sign up to coparent her sister. If he makes the money and is monetarily supporting the three of them he is prioritizing their child and financial future. which also is quite contradictory to what you say in other vids of similar circumstances. If the wife is not happy about it she can separate and think for herself then instead of forcing a selfish decision on both of them. Not like the courts arent going to force the husband to pay out the ass during the divorce if it comes to that.
