The first story has a sad truth to it. OP is being taken advantage of and manipulated. I feel bad for them cause that person is not their friend. And trust me on that. I went through something like this too. The only thing these types of people understand is silence and distance. They will talk, slander and libel the person who put up the boundaries when it's all said and done. Let them. If legal action is required to get them to stop for them to finally get a clue that what they're doing has repercussions, take that action. However, most of the time these types of people are just insecure overgrown middle school bullies who never mentally mature past the age of 11.

It happened to me and I had to flip out and go crazy on the person who was violating my boundaries for her to finally get the hint that I wasn't going to take her shit anymore. Naturally, they tried to gaslight, emotionally manipulate and mentally blackmail the person when they've reached their breaking point. Such was the case with me. The very tangible threat of me exposing her true nature to everyone she knew was enough to make her leave me alone for good.

Keep your last name. They wanted to remove the name completely, they only suggested doing a triple last name because they were getting desperate to have their way. Probably an image thing since she has so many baby daddies, and everyone having the same last name creates a false image. Not changing is going to ruin the image. Anyhoo, keep that last name living, and every time your step mother brings it up, remind her she is second and that you will stop reminding her when she stops trying to erase your mother's name. If she mentions the triple, remind her that's desperation and her first choice was to erase it.
