Story 2 : I remember yaers ago, late 60s-early 70s, our family used holiday camps a lot. (This is in the UK, holiday camps were a collection of chalets with bathrooms but not cooking facilities). The code for the night patrol to check for crying children was a towel tied to the outside door of the chalet. I can see that wouldn't fly by todays standards.
