The reason why you don’t feel “everything is fine”, I am guessing is that, we see dangers coming from all directions. Things only turn out to be fine as an end result, as a result of our efforts but things are definitely not fine in the moment. Outsiders would find us powerful, in charge of things. I saw Matt’s questions about Kate’s marital and family status as looking to see if she had any outside commitments or distractions that would interfere with a mission that requires long weird hours, days on end, and significant danger. Of course, in real life, they would’ve already screened the records for somebody like that before bringing her in for a face-to-face, but the movie had to get a point across.

The records can tell you the CORRECT answers beforehand, but the RIGHT answers can only be known by seeing her expression. Keith and his partner are not Texas Rangers, they are U.S. Marshals. You made the same error in your analysis of Alejandro . U.S. Marshals are federal law enforcement officers responsible for federal prisoner transport and tracking down fugitives. Texas Rangers are state law enforcement officers that are a branch of the Texas Bureau of Public Safety. I’m guessing here, but I don’t think Texas Rangers would be used in a covert operation of this type. The prisoner was taken from a Mexican prison across an international border to an American military base to be interrogated under duress. The whole operation was attempted to be conducted in secret and was likely illegal. CIA, FBI, Delta force , US Marshals, and a CIA trained assassin. No Texas Rangers.
@TheDon625 ай бұрын
You do realize most deputy marshals are essentially “part time” deputies for the marshal service, and are for all intents and purposes “full time” whatever agency they originate from and are simply “attached” to the marshals service, right? But by the very end of the film she/America must realize that she has to let go of the unsuccessful tactics she has been engaged in and leave the hunting to the wolves. Her character was a necessary stand-in for audiences of the first film but entirely unnecessary by the second.

It could be said that Sicario offers us an alternative to justice that is closer to the law of nature. That is to say, in Sicario the nature of crime is understood and it is fought from its same perspective. Morality has no place in perversion. The laws and rules attached to the penal code are the blah blah blah that applies to other non-existent realities in the hell of this dirty war. Delta Force counterterrorists have full authority, from the President, to operate inside the borders of the United States and likewise, to handle business worldwide. They are the only American military counterterrorists who can, and do, operate clandestine anywhere, stateside and worldwide, both solo and in teams. The movie was very entertaining but the idea that a CIA clandestine services officer would need to bring in an FBI special agent, co-ordinating with a Delta Force counterterrorist team, in order to hunt down a Mexican cartel leader stateside or in Mexico, is simply not true. If Delta Force got the order to hunt down the cartel leader, they would have full legal authority to execute the mission. The second Sicario movie was far closer to the truth.
@starfishprime77214 ай бұрын
