I was stuck between being an Entj and and Enfj and this really cleared it up for sure. I'm an Entj.

As an ESTP it's interesting to hear this because while I do relate a lot to some aspects of ENTJs and ENFJs the planning for spontaneity thing is wild to me. Usually I plan the big picture of where I'm going but I like to see in the moment what I'm going to do and not restrict myself. I don't plan anything small and I trust my ability to go with the moment in any case so much that I feel like I only need to make contingency plans when I'm close to my destination of choice.

The calling in the car in a particular order because there is time for it is exactly what my INTJ mother does. This is exactly the "Te the crap out of relationships" part. Or putting off the call for later because she knows it will take long. She doesn't understand how I can go on talking and talking :) It's amazing how one function unites people in doing the same thing though the people live so far apart from each other and belong to different cultures. I also relate to most of the things being said here although not being either of those types (I'm an INFJ).

In my experience Fi users have more emotion than Fe users. Fe is focused on the tribe and over all emotions of the group. While Fi is processing individual (deeper) emotions. That being said Fi can be babyish and immature if it’s not developed. With Te users (ENTJ, INTJ, ISTJ, ESTJ) you will catch a glimpse of their Fi when their Te is overridden. So they are using Te 90% of the time as a default setting, and all the sudden you get a glimpse of Fi babyish emotion. With ISTJs or INTJs they almost hold back their Fi demon, or “reserve it”, while ENTJs/ESTJs don’t care as much and you can get a glimpse easier.

I wouldn't agree, I'm an Fe user (INFJ) and I have a lot of emotions, I know an ISFJ that's also a very emotional person. We might think that we have less emotions because we can detach from them pretty well at times but when we're in Fe mode we aren't able to name and process the emotions in the moment as we're too focused on the outside world, so we need to take a step back to figure out what it is exactly that we're feeling. Fe also relates to ourselves in relation to the group, so it can be quite personal as well and runs pretty deep. I'd say Fi is less susceptible to change as it doesn't relate to outside arguments as much as Fe does.

I haven't watched all of this yet, but I'm loving this match-up. I'm an ENFJ and my son (age 21) is an ENTJ. We are best friends and worst enemies at the same time. We tend to argue a lot and I always give up first because the emotional tension bothers me. He'll either get disappointed because he was "having fun" or he'll claim he won the argument. 😆 I'm actually quite fascinated by our relationship as I think it really showcases how two people with same aux/different lead functions relate. I'm curious how it works with other type match-ups like this.

I absolutely loved seeing the differences of the Te-Se realm of these wonderful ENTJ and ENFJ people! It's interesting with spontaneity because I also plan to be spontaneous, but as long as someone starts it other than myself. As for emotions, I care for people collectively than "one on one" as an ESFJ, which is why I always end up forgetting my own needs. This darkness definitely comes from my Ti, to the point that I have to talk these thoughts out loud to make sure they are not mine! Love these compare and contrast panels between different types. What a powerful video. Thanks Joyce!

This is fascinating as an estj event planner, because my lack of Ni makes it more difficult to plan too far in the future or to plan for the unexpected, but I want to be prepared rather than having to react in the moment. However I think I kind of make up for it with attention to detail, and relying on others' input because they'll see something I missed.

Oh my Gawd, traveling with my Dad was always the most planned and when we didn’t comply the meltdowns, oh my gosh I remember that. My sister and I have specific memories of like a character breakfast in Disney World and an airport in Chiangmai where things were not fitting his plan and he just couldn’t take that. Oh my gosh. Go Joyce Gooooo!!!! I’ve been getting used to a new position and loving it. But, I’ve been trying to catch up on KZbin. Go Joyce Go. My Dad is an ENTJ and I feel like I should hide from the screen while watching this…. I can feel the judgement, I’m kidding. Exxjs are actually the most caring of the types, they just can’t see themselves which is like crazy if you think about it. Obsessed with helping others, or molding them and can’t see, or really help themselves. And their bark and bite are never the same. But, I feel the energy here.

My dad is an ISTJ and he's great at planning, he doesn't get upset if things go badly but he's not very flexible. We got stopped before leaving Israel to go home and the officer was suspicious of how early we were heading toward the airport lol.

@@sarahberkner hahaha I can feel the ixxj motor from here… yeah ISTJ’s don’t freak me out. Until you’ve experienced the whiplash of an exxj in an intimate or familial relationship… if you know you know. Just went back to that character breakfast spot with my own family, sister and mother and FaceTimed my father there, he’s too old to Disney, but yeah you can reclaim space and heal memories and honestly calm your exxj down with time.

Amazing video! I don't suspect that anyone on this panel is mistyped. The ENFJs caring so much about the humanity of things and the ENTJs caring so much about the overall efficiency of things. It's a great representation on the difference between Te-Ni and Fe-Ni. As an Ni-dom, it's always interesting to hear how Ni-Aux users use Ni as a tool 🙃

Thank you, Jon! A delight to see you in the comments section. :) Yeah, the FJ (human-focus) vs TJ (efficiency-focus) differences shine real bright in this video.

Such a great chat! I can related so much to both types, although I would consider myself a more introvert version. They blew my mind so many times! Got curious to know Jeff’s take on hierarchy. I can relate a lot to just treating people as people but “respecting their knowledge and not so much their position”.

I loved this panel! Really related to both ENTJs and ENFJs. Can't wait for part 2. The emotions talk was really interesting. My emotions almost feel like a different person, as if they aren't attached to me. Other people's emotions don't scare me but mine definitely do. Really related to Rena about the conversation piece. I have snack convos but a couple friends where we can talk for HOURS and then not talk until the next month or couple months. But I find those long less frequent conversations so fulfilling. And hi Rena! We met in a typing session a couple of months ago.

INTP here. Such a great panel & discussion, thank you all. Guess I’m a little critical (and spoiled from Joyce’s “best off” panels), but I find it rare with an all-extrovert panel showing off this high level of introspection and deeper soul-work across the board.

Beautiful. This was an interesting discussion. I appreciate you putting it together, Joyce as you oft do. It was cool hearing how Jeff approaches relationships. I do the same. I sorta have a mental list. And I also am super particular of how I spend my time and who to invest it in like how Lisa described. I love seeing the crossover. Looking forward to part 2.🤙🏾 -ENFJ

I keep working out to ENFJ the different times I read or online tests. I can really relate with ENFJ comments. I find I goto sarcasm for responses for a lot of situations. My wife has mentioned several times I go to the worst case situations, even if I don't believe it myself. I prepare for worst case so I can respond more positively if things happen to go that way.

That was so interesting to hear how having the Fe function actually makes you very unemotional by default cause Fe users' own emotions are pretty much unconscious but through others' emotions they can be very emotional by connecting others' emotions to their own to feel. I guess it's fair considering it is their own emotions from the moment where they actually feel them. But then I wonder if it works the same way for Te and Ti. Does asking what others think help extroverted thinkers to connect to their personal theorizations and inner logic? I know Te users are usually very interested in what you think.
@sarahberkner Жыл бұрын
As an ESTJ I value other people's input for what needs to be done in a certain situation, so in that way, yes. And I'm better at fine-tuning other people's ideas and knowing what will work than starting from scratch. However I sometimes don't like hearing their opinions unless it relates to me in some way, even if they're disagreeing with me that's fine but if for example they bring up a controversial take that no one asked for, that's a little annoying to me. And I don't personally enjoy deep discussions. But I know not every ESTJ, much less TJ, is like that.
@kyurei4478 Жыл бұрын
I see. That seems to be very similar to Fe in the process actually. The fact of liking something that relates to you personally might be associated with the Fi function to me. I think it might be the same for Fe users, they tend to not like when someone brings a very personal opinion or a very personal and controversial moral view. Not liking deep discussions also fits the S/the sensor aspect to a tee to me. But some ESTJs might be more into their extraverted thinking so they might like theorizing more. It's true that I didn't consider the fact that the SJ types might probably not like thinking as much but more acting, as an ESFJ would do. Maybe it would be more visible with an ENTJ then, if they like to theorize from logical takes. I think my questioning wasn't so clear so what I'm wondering exactly is if hearing ideas/Ti takes awakens the theorizing side of Te users/their own Ti/their inner personal reflection when they're with others, at least a bit? Even if ESTJs are sensors, I think that should show a bit if that was the case. But I think you pretty much responded to my question cause you said you value it. But I think I should ask if you personally find their takes interesting and more importantly if you sometimes think about it deeper yourself when they bring those logical takes to you to potentially form a personal opinion on it. Thanks for your answer, it was very interesting, especially from sensor types!
