Can you please make a video on how to repair holes in locks
@breezy19902 жыл бұрын
I had switched consultants in 2019 due to the fact that the individual who initially installed my sisterlocks would cancel appointments and I wouldn't hear from her for months 🙄 now with current loctician I noticed over the last few months I have quite a few holes in my hair. A couple weeks ago I visited a sisterlock trainee who specializes in repairing locs and during the consultation she noticed that my loctician was doing improper retights. She attempted to repair one but she said she wasn't able to because my loc is so tight that she can't even get the tool to go in with any of the methods she knows. She did get with me later after she spoken to her mentor about the situation and said that maybe over time my hair will loosen up before they compress. As of right now I haven't booked her for any future retightenings yet. She's pretty booked up until February.

This video was *so* helpful! I maintain my own locs and your last point has now let me know not to assume that when I stop and pull my tool through at the matted part of my loc, that the matted part will stay matted and not create a hole. Thank you!

Glad it was helpful! Yes, it's not the case for everyone but for some, it does loosen over time and can weaken the loc.

That’s what happens to me! I diyed mine & I simply go back through matted hole and close it now. Can you PLEASE show how to fix holes or how to position tool into matted hair when doing reties? I’ve learned how to fix mine but would be great to see if I’m fixing it correct or for others out there as not many loctitians do videos on rectifying mistakes. Thanks for posting 👍🏾

Thank you for this video. I was having holes. I have about 450 sisterlocks. My consultant could get my whole head done in under an hour. Get my reties every 6 wks. one time I had to go 7 wks. And she still would finish in about 45-50 mins. I suspected it was her technique. But I couldn’t find anything that adequately explained how it could be the way the consultant reties my hair and not that fact I have a soft/looser curl pattern. I switched consultants and have not had that issue since. Also there a noticeable difference in quality and appearance of my locs at the point I switched.

I'm glad you found someone that is taking care of your locs. I don't see how anyone can retighten 450 locs in less than 1 hour 👀

i just left africans braid shop for the first time in 2.5 years i see holes at the root of several locs i was last loc 9/14 in south caroline superb job back home missouri this african braid shop quoted me 60 then 150 for loc maintenance on 2/3. so 4.5 months of new growth could find anyone i trusted so i took a leap of faith. i have alopecia and it has taken me 2.5 years to grow my hair shoulder length with no bald spot. im devastated i got holes all throughout my hair. i feel like this was intentional.

I forgot what you said in last videos. If I have beginning locs(4 months), how often should I wash my hair if my loctition scheduled me out for 8 weeks?
@EnToiBeauty2 жыл бұрын
I would try to get 2 to 3 washes in before next reti.

I’ve been loc’d for 18 months (micros). I’ve gotten my hair retired every 6 weeks like clockwork, I wash it regularly, I still wash it in braids, and I sleep with a bonnet on a satin pillow even when traveling…I take care of my hair. I’m just noticing that I have holes from the root to where my loc originally started. I’m devastated because I can’t see the back of my head and I didn’t realize it. It seems as if my loc is thinner on the section from my scalp down. What should I do? Is it just time to find another loctician? 😢

I started my loc journey almost 2 weeks ago and I have multiple holes in the entire strand of every loc. I have super fine loose curl pattern and I also have low density’s hair. Can this be fixed?

Could you please do a video on how to repair this? I’ve only gotten three retis and after my second one I noticed holes! Is it unusual to have holes right under the freshly retied part?
@EnToiBeauty Жыл бұрын
Right under the fresh retie is fine but throughout the loc isn't.

I have sisterlocks and I go every six weeks I’m on my 2nd loctician due to moving I didn’t have this issue with my first loctician .I’ve had my locks for a year and the loctician is saying it’s my fault the reason I have hole in my locs so how can I stop this because if I don’t have to spend extra money I do not want to
@EnToiBeauty2 жыл бұрын
It could be a number of reasons why you have holes in your locs. Your loctician should be able to look at it and tell you what's happening and then you'll know what to do differently. If it's due to poor tension or improper technique, then that's something that the loctician has to make sure gets corrected. If it's due to slippage, then correcting your loc care routine/maintenance would help. Hope this helps.

Are these whole happening more or less with 2, 3 or 4 point rotation?
@EnToiBeauty10 ай бұрын
Improper technique and poor tension create the holes
@Rilva10 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. Many people say you get holes with 2 point, but I can imagine getting holes with 4 point, bigger chance that I will excidently enter in the same spot. And I also do not want to pull my hair to tight (I already have alopecia). Helppp… do you know what’s best to do? I also need the extra volume to cover up the alopecia
