Sad to think james had a family that deserted him and has no friends. But james had the courage to serve his country and his king. I'm quite sure james holds a special place in the arms of the lord. People of Ireland can be proud of this hero. Greetings from Connecticut USA 🇺🇸

The thing is, Ireland was colonised by the British and at the time, Irish people had nothing but hatred for everything associated with England, and they would never call an English king their King. They would have disowned him, not been proud of him.

Breathtaking scenery, and I'm so, so glad that you found James' burial site and his plaque. I was so touched by the inscription and thrilled that GV managed to clean off the moss so that he could read the whole thing. I reckon you were directed to that plaque so that James' name could be heard and all watching could hear of his life and of his passing. Something made you stop there and investigate more. Loved this video. Thank you so much for all that you do. ~ Cobs. (Dorset. England)

I will never tire of gazing upon that magnificent cross! It's hard to believe the little chapel is over 300 years old, and still intact. You were definitely meant to find James and uncover his story. I wonder if he was abandoned by his family as a child, or perhaps an orphan, to have such deep feelings of desertion as an adult. Thank you both so much for a wonderful adventure. Take care. I think you all were drawn to James McGrath on purpose, it's almost as if he wanted to be remembered, if only by strangers. He knew he was an honorable man even though others may not have stuck by him, at least his son inherited his decency and did the honorable thing by making that plaque. Thank you GV for showing us a glimpse into somebody else's life. And what a beautiful cemetery! I too have seen the other videos; that Celtic cross is like no other, and the view! Breathtaking. What a gorgeous High Cross. We were in Killarney but it was night till we got to our B&B and we wanted to eat. We went into to the town so quaint we ate at a restaurant on the second floor we sat beside the window. There was a bride with a short veil and a group of young ladies walking through the town. I have been watching these very special videos nonstop since I found the first one yesterday. each of them so unique and exquisitely beautiful. Ireland is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Whenever I visit a new place, especially when my sister is with me, I love to visit the cemeteries and read the stories there. You find some very fascinating stories that are left behind. I want to clean up the stones that have been neglected.and there are people who do that. I believe that there is nothing to fear there, bones will not hurt you and the Bible teaches that once a person dies he is in God‘s memory waiting for the resurrection. And death is the end of it, until God is ready to bring them back. John 5:28-9. That being said, we may have the opportunity to find out the story of each of their lives in the future. Something to think about. Thank you for working so hard to bring us such entertainment. It is wholesome and interesting, captivating in its own way. I love the lichen so much, that grows upon the stones and I find all of it so fascinating and beautiful in its own way. And the old churches you show us are amazing in their Gothic appeal. There is something so bittersweet seeing the remains of buildings that were enjoyed in their lifetime. History is quite enchanting and romantic.

Also, these are my favorite videos to watch when I get home from work around 11 pm PNW Time. Because if there was anywhere I could be at any time it would be #1 Any Cemetery in Ireland #2 Any Cemetery Anywhere Day or Night. Seattle only has so many. So thanks for giving me both something to look forward to AND Something to be Jealous about! You get to See Actual Mummies! So Jealous! Cheers!

@@SerenitySueGraveyards Yea I love making them for my actual channel, I'm a film nerd and went to school for it 30 years ago..But It is weird to laugh at myself in a video at a joke no one but me understood! I get a good chuckle at yours at the right moments. Gotta keep the humor in and just be yourself/oursleves. Make's it better to just be..

I for 1 am grateful that you do go up and down in these places its interesting and very humbling too as the people who are there were once like we are now and after all were all born with a date on our head invisible to us so these places give us these dates of those who walked the land many years before us so keep doing what you do god bless you and gv

Beautiful cemetery. It is not overgrown so someone must be taking care of it. Some of the vaults are showing their age, but that is what happens. You wonder sometimes, how urban Legends, like the gentleman being buried sitting upright, get started? Thank you for debunking that one. Thank you very much Sue and GV, for a very interesting video. Have a great day. 😊

@Serenity Sue You are very much welcome. Yes, it is. One thing I found disturbing, and I did not comment on it earlier, was those candles in those crypts. Whoever left those candles in there, may not have been up to anything good, and you almost have to wonder, how the Hell they got in there? Visiting that cemetery at night 🌙 may not be a good idea. Thank you very much again Sue.

What an amazing find of James McGraths headstone. I want to say no apology needed on my part for cleaning it. I believe it was meant for you guys to find it and uncover it. I wanted to mention to you that I sometimes watch another channel that goes and finds graves in the wooded areas in their state and they will take all the cleaning supplies and scrub the headstones to get them back at their original state. I see your channel and I think what a great idea if there were organizations that would go in to these cemeteries that are so badly overgrown and clean the brush out of them and bring some of them back to life? So sad to see history just fade away. Thank you again for bringing those that have been lost in lives but not forgotten. ❤

Yes, I feel we were supposed to find James too. Unfortunately here we are not allowed touch anything without permission from the family, if they are gone it's extremely hard to find a relative. Then you need insurance too
