great insight, i need to improve on this aspect. I resonate with the burnout, Working full time, 2 kids, and a wife while trying to network, build and fundrasie really wears on me to the point that I shut down at night and can bring myself to do critical tasks.

Mae the last tip about making your personal/weekend/non-working time sacred is really the BEST advice from the whole video! This aspect is by far the one that will keep you going as an entrepreneur in the long run. It's easy to think that work comes before physical and mental health... Gracias por el video mae, super tuanis!

Caya - love what you did with your content marketing and slidebean. Regarding multi-tasking -- it's true you need to juggle a lot of things, but I found more success batch processing things. 100% agree though on the importance of finding a job that's flexible. That's something I think more and more people are valuing as we enter an increasingly remote workplace.

As a startup founder with a 6 year old also, it was refreshing seeing how you balance and include your daughter in your day to day. I sometimes feel like I might be neglecting my kids for the startup, so this was nice. Also a wake-up call because I put updating the website/coding as my number 1 priority. Seeing it at the bottom of your list made me consider switching it also in hopes of maximizing my productivity.

@cayahere4 жыл бұрын
Haha, I like to think I still am a young hustler whose idea just worked! It’s tough, uncertainty is way worse when you have responsibilities. Slidebean was already under way when Pao became pregnant, and we set a clear deadline on when I should find a day job if things weren’t working out.

Hello Caya, My name is Luis, I’d like to ask of where I can get started to experience the start up experience without having a start up company. By “experience” I’m referring to knowledge about start ups(in person) and meeting the community in person. By the way, Love your videos they offer the outmost quality and education that KZbin has to offer. Thanks, Luis

Great video, I was looking for help on this. Could you contrast your current schedule with the one that burnt you out years ago? My company isn't stable yet and I find myself straining to keep up while maintaining family time and not burning out. Been a follower of your videos for over a year, they've really helped me as a nascent CEO launching a startup.

Thanks for the great video Caya. You have an incredible video editor on your team! What is your favourite tool for task management?
@cayahere4 жыл бұрын
Now first, unlike the videos on the Slidebean channel, this video was totally edited/animated by me, so I’m just going to steal the credit 😬 Task management: clickup! I did Monday.com for a while, but ClickUp is way better.

Awesome video! Thanks Man. As a fellow Costarican CEO and college drop out, why did you went back? What was the tipping point?
@cayahere4 жыл бұрын
Great question! Two reasons: 1- at some point I considered doing an MBA. I felt it could really up my skills in entrepreneurship. That’s less likely to happen now. 2- Visas. There are more resident visa options in the US and Europe if you are a college graduate.
@s1m0n3ch4 жыл бұрын
@@cayahere Nice. Thanks for the perspective. Still amazed with the compromise to get back to study as CEO. Also thought about #1 for some time, now I think contacts are a big part of an MBA, and if I need them I could bring to the team someone that has one. #2, great point! I want to live in those countries in the future, so excelent perspective. Thanks!

Do you use any task tracking platform in all of these or just calendar?
@cayahere4 жыл бұрын
For my tasks I’ve been working with Monday.com, and recently have been migrating to ClickUp. They aren’t as essential because tasks are mostly related to other people’s questions or requests, and those I try to answer right away. My own tasks are mostly a list, which I sometimes keep in my iPhone Notes.
