Hey Nicole! Thank you for the great insight- I was just curious of your perspective of how difficult it may be to land one of these entry level cybersecurity positions without going through any sort of help desk or prior employment in IT. Do you think with the combination of homelabs and hands on experience, an Associate's degree, CompTIA Security+, and ambition that shows to employers, that making this move would be likely? In my perspective it seems tough, but I have seen some people do something similar- I'm sure it happens, but I'm just curious your thoughts on starting in Help Desk Support. I'm not opposed to it in anyway if it gets my foot in the door. Thanks!

It will be difficult, a lot more difficult than say help desk BUT if you look at small companies instead of large companies you will have a much better shot. Large companies have tons of red tape barriers, while small companies might give you a hot with a cert and home labs. The combination of homelabs and hands on experience, an Associate's degree, CompTIA Security+, and ambition makes it VERY likeley. Don't overestimate other people, and think everyone is better
