I have a couple of P Allen's books and I've probably rented all of the others. I like his ideas. I know he learned early from the impressive gardens overseas, so he is classically trained in all aspects of this fascinating pastime.

Love your ideas and creations. Obviously an "If you need to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it" situation. Creativity however allows one to scale these up or down and still keep the essence within a one on a Spending Plan (budget).

I think the same things with his videos. 😅And I'm an avid gardener with formal beds and tiered hardscape.

❤️ the porch pillar repeat from the house! I have similar pillars on the front porch of my century home and never thought to repeat in the garden. I’m wondering how often your priming and repainting and what paint product holds up in your winters? My pillars are due to repaint and held up for a good number of years but our big red barn is not holding up at all. Environmental laws have changed the components of latex paint and were looking for another option for exterior finishes. I may sound a little off topic but the architectural elements are a huge part of beautiful gardens.

Love the Columns and Arbors, they are Timeless. And I'm a Frank Lloyd Wright, Modern/MidCentury Fan, but the same idea is doable with a style change. Well done - I can imagine Lighting in the evening is lovely.

Of course, all this costs mega bucks. The longer I garden, the more I come to learn, that money truly helps to make the great garden.
@marywatkins94385 жыл бұрын
Yes, his ideas cost money. But a basic arched trellis/support for a vining plant doesn't have to. Gardening needn't be a bourgeois affair. And it's certainly an affordable form of therapy.

I would suggest painting the insteps of the porch stairs white. It was a common style with older homes but still adds visual dimension and punch than monochrome of steps to porch floor.

Love that cohesiveness you ae talking about. I was wondering about the brick color as you update. The house has more of a brown brick from the 90's. I love red brick. What do you think about mixing those Colors? Thank you...

my God that so beautiful! I want one like that. but a long walk I would have 4- clocks around a day room or the porch they give such a wonderful scent in the evening. I also like orange trees at least two in the front. I'm hydrangeas up against the fenceI simply love the color of that house And the arbors up against the green it is beautiful. I don't really arbor I think lavender

Beautiful space. When I look at new house developments it is very sad...I see entire streets of large houses with no foliage around them(not even trees). I also never see people outside attending to landscaping at all. Is it a matter of no time to attend to such things or people just don't care?

This is what I would do if I had money. Not buy jets or yachts or million dollar handbags. I would make wild & beautiful gardens everywhere. I think I spend about as much money on dirt & mulch as most women spend on their hair & nails. Different priorities, I guess.

I stopped watching this guy's tv show because he was always looking off into the distance talking to ???? instead of looking at the camera - the audience. WTH is up with that? Is it supposed to be artistic? It's just distracting. First you wonder if he has any idea where the cameraman is. It's ridiculous. I came here hoping that was just on the show, but he's doing it here too.
@ameshamonique8 жыл бұрын
LOL!!!!! Your comment literally made me spit out my cereal! I was wondering the exact same thing. I'm thinking maybe there are two camera's and he's talking to one, but during the editing process they added footage from the other camera??? Not sure, but the side views are very distracting.
@giennefarcais68348 жыл бұрын
:) I think this might be a "thing" or else there are more bad cameramen out there than there should be. There are two other shows that do the same thing. I can't even watch them anymore. And I've had to tell them why.
@Jack-oc2xq7 жыл бұрын
Gienne Farcais it's because there are two or more cameras recording him, it's just weird editing that makes it look like he never looks at the camera, so when he's looking at one camera they use the footage of the other camera, not sure why but it's not his fault
