Im 55 and have had sever asthma most of my life. However, over the last 5 years I've noticed that after I eat food, I begin to have what "feels" like an asthma attack, but when I burp the asthma feeling goes away completely! Sometimes I burp right away, but if I eat too fast I may struggle to breath and burp an hour later and again, totally fine. This does not sound like asthma and I don't really deal with acid reflux or that feeling of it coming up the throat. I wonder if its inflammation in my throat, could the food get stuck and when I burp, more air goes through? Would love your thoughts on this.
