Dr Divya S Iyer is an Indian bureaucrat, medical doctor, editor, and author who is part of the Indian Administrative Service in Kerala. She is the managing director of Vizhinjham International Seaport. She previously has held the posts of District Collector of Pathanamthitta and Mission Director of Mahatma Gandhi NREGA.
In this four-part series we cover various topics of relevance. In Part 1 we talk abour her professional journey into why she chose Indian Administrative Service after doing her MBBS. She had scured rank 139 the first time she appeared for civil services exams but chose to write again. This time she secured rank 48. She explains why she left IRS and joined IAS. She explains how her mindset is when she approaches work as a civil servant. This is a deeply inspiring conversation and keeps us glued for the sheer conviction and clarity of thought that Dr Divya speaks with. She motivates us to do better and aim higher.
