I had to choose between the Melee and the Lab71... And I bought the cannondale... Enve Melee is to boring for me coming from various dogmas and at last a Madone SLR 7

Yeh I mean I’ve been fortunate enough to ride a few of the top spec bikes, madone, sl7, emonda slr9 and this enve and I’d say this is the best allrounder. All of them are sick bikes in their own right though. I just feel so solid on this and that stability is something I’d take over anything else atm

Why so rare? Because it is default overpriced road bike made in China that offers nothing new, that looks exactly like any other. Why pay more, when you can get Van Rysel (pro tour bike too) RCR for fraction of the price and get exactly same performance, build quality and stuff?

Did you know that ENVE owns its own factory is the far east (where some of the best carbon manufacturing experts are) and control specific layups for each frame size? This is not an argument against your point, but it is a fact that demonstrates that the Melee is anything but a ‘default’ bike. Whereas a vast proportion of high performance carbon frames are made by a select group of carbon manufacturers, the Melee does stand apart in that regard. Yes, it is made in the far east, but it is by ENVE, in ENVE’s own factory, by ENVE craftsmen and women, and only for ENVE. If you haven’t already, you might want to take up on Josh’s statement of trying one. You may find that the cost of the Melee is actually rather justified. You may not.
