Environmental Media Field Trips

This video was made by first-year students at the Seattle Film Institute. It tells the story of three field trips we took for a class combining environmental science with documentary filmmaking.

Outstanding video! Surprisingly enjoyable and well done. This is exactly what our world needs to be a better place! The narration is surprisingly refreshing and honest. Shots and editing create great relativity and perspective for locations visited. May I suggest whenever speaking of locations show a map for a moment on a scale of 1 inch equals 1 mile or 1 inch equals 2000 feet. Best wishes to these young filmmakers who tell important stories. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found it inspiring. Yes, I did think about including maps to help orient viewers, so your suggestion is spot on. I'm hoping to run a similar class this coming summer and will make sure to include maps in the next video.
